Push
A final push to break through the veil to no avail.
Strength ebbed long before day break but something pushes on
Something.
I know not what force encourages the thrash and spasm of my every muscle, but it pushes on.
What lies ahead is a mystery and what lies behind is simply a dream.
The push continues on.
My mind has grown weak but my muscles continue on.
My heart pumps and defies with each opening of every valve.
I want to quit
I want to die
But the push continues on.
A shell of what should be
A husk of what could...

The Brown-Eyed Beast
What can stop me from making the same mistake twice. I think about it but nothing will ever change. I'm never good enough. I never will be. I destroy situations in which I only long to help. I'm a monster, a beast made only for ruination. I can long for love but it will never come. It is only a thing of my dreams, of my imagination. There is no end for the torture of a creature like me. Maybe the pain is all I will ever deserve. Perhaps a dismal end will only come of what plagues me. I race through my mind to find something to praise myself for but nothing comes of it. I will end this life...

Love as One
Your hand has become cold to the touch.
Your voice has become nothing more than a silent whisper.
Your heartbeat has become nothing more than a silent thud.
And you life has become nothing more than a dwindling flame.
But your love, oh how your love grows.
What started as a spark has grown into the unimaginable.
It has grown into a roaring forest fire that can be seen from the cosmos.
A flame that cannot be dowsed by water, by lies, nor by hatred.
A flame that has consumed me in body, mind, and soul.
But it brings no pain, no blood, no death.
It brings...

When Night Takes Over
When the dawn is done and the day has passed, I creep out into the dark feeling free at last.
With the moon up above me and my shadow down below, I run through the night until the final bell toll.
I am not a human nor am I a beast, I am a melancholic creature prowling for a feast.
The words of a scholar or the thoughts of a poet, I feast upon their works not knowing what I will receive.
The words to a love that has long since passed, the story of a mortal going out with a blast.
With the moon now ahead of me and the sun at my back, I retreat to my hole to shorten the list...

The Last Breath
I look into the mirror as the final tears fall from my eyes. There are no words to describe the pain.
A shuffle, an open drawer, and the silent ping of steel are the only sounds to break the silence of the room.
My flesh burns, I bite my lip and hold back a sigh of relief as the blade bites through my flesh.
Sweet ecstasy fills my body as the blood flows without warrant. I sit back and sigh as the cold steel bites again and again.
There is nothing to do now but wait, wait for the blade to be satisfied, for it's hunger to recede.
I close my eyes and drift off into an...

The Run with Death
I turn to see the figure, dark and hooded, voice ever so raspy.
My feet seem to move before my mind does.
I walk faster and faster as I hear the flapping of the cloak behind me.
It isn't long before I am in a slow jog but I cannot escape the sound of that dreadful cloak.
I feel the chill of the air as the figure closes in ever so quickly.
I break into a run but it is all in vain.
I hear the voice, like nails on a chalkboard, as it whispers my name right into my ear.
I try to sprint away but my legs are giving up, my body is succumbing to the darkness.

Stay by you
I watch as the tears roll down your cheek.
I hate to are you in so much pain.
I reach out and wipe the tears away.
I lift your chin and smile at you, watch as the pain slowly fades.
You smile ever so lightly and wrap your arms around me.
No matter the trials and tribulations I am a shoulder to cry on.
I squeeze you ever so gently and say nothing but you know what I am relaying.
You squeeze in reply and whisper "I love you too best friend."
All you need is a best friend to carry you when you are down and walk with you to have everything.
I hate to are you in so much pain.

Actions Speak Louder
As we lie down I wonder if you will just drape your arm over me as usual.
I lie on my side and expect the usual.
Your arm rests on my side as I sigh.
I wasn't expecting what came next as I feel warmth on my neck.
Your wrap your arms around me and pull me close, squeezing ever so gently.
I hold my breath and close my eyes, trying to blink away the dream.
But as I open my eyes and feel your warm touch, I breath a sigh of happiness.
As we lay there in tender bliss, no one speaking nor moving, i listen to your breathing as it warms the back of my neck.

I look deep into his eyes and speak the three words that I feel from within.
I choke back tears as he begins to speak for the response was certain, the same every time.
"I can't say that I love you truly because I don't know if I do."
My heart drops and I lose the words he continues to speak.

The silent beast
Every muscle in my body slowly begins to tense. I feel the dark side of me creeping up.
They don't know but deep inside of me, the anger begins to well.
Once the spout has been opened, it cannot be closed with soothing words.
I close my eyes and breathe deeply but I can hear his voice in my ear.
He tells me lies that my heart knows aren't true but my mind doesn't seem to care about the truth.
I clench my jaw and bite back the hatred that has grown so large.
But all the biting back doesn't suffice and I feel the remaining sanity I have snap.
I explode and hurt...
