Off- beat and kilter I blurt out a phrase
Stuck in the fog and this hanging malaise
Breath in the sighs and exhale a gasp
Surprised once again by my one laziness
I shouldn't have flinched I don't really feel
but the waves and the tide just don't really care
Wearing me down to a formless gray lump
All edges cut away to make room for what
pumps through my veins, what little there is
and I'm not so sure there's time to finish
But I'll stumble on with you in my sights
till the dawn breaks and there's no memory of night
Stuck in the fog and this hanging malaise
Breath in the sighs and exhale a gasp
Surprised once again by my one laziness
I shouldn't have flinched I don't really feel
but the waves and the tide just don't really care
Wearing me down to a formless gray lump
All edges cut away to make room for what
pumps through my veins, what little there is
and I'm not so sure there's time to finish
But I'll stumble on with you in my sights
till the dawn breaks and there's no memory of night
