Cigarette...

Press this moment to my lips.
Precious cigarette.
Take it in and let it set.
Erase the images.

Your finger pressed against my lips.
In my moment of silence
The voiceless are put to rest.

Deprive me of you once more.
Your attention I need.
I'm screaming out from my inner core.
Can you hear me?
Or shall you leave me on the floor?

MOTHER!
FATHER!
CAN YOU HEAR ME?

MOTHER!
FATHER!
I BLEED FOR YOU NOW!.

The stain you've left on my fingertips..
Go ahead blame it on this cigarette.
I'll breathe in
Take it all in.

On your screams
Your lies
Your anger
I choke!
I feel as though your love has become a joke!

I stood back and read the warning label.
This heart attack I can no longer handle.
You've blacked my lungs with this cancer.
You've blacked my mind with promises
And false hope.

Can you hear me NOW!?
Can you feel my PAIN!?
Don't blame me for this anger!
Don't blame me for this rage.
Blame this cigarette..
I've laid my feelings to rest.
