Infinite Complexity

And so
when we
put ourselves
out there,

take the chance
to be wrong
to change
to challenge
to be challenged

we open our legs
we open our mouths
we take a taste
we allow ourselves
to be tasted

and instead of shame
we feel the extension
of our previous experiences
and in our hope
for becoming closer approximations
of who we are

we find ourselves
moving the target
transforming the goal
understanding more
and knowing less

for the infinite
opens to us
as we let go
of the finite
and in this way
we pass
from insignificance
into a world
of what matters,

the sense
of our being
who we have feared
that we were
all along.
