Image for the poem Perfect rains

Perfect rains

Today The Devil was beating his wife
stepping outside to ask him why
A pup bristles, a little girl cries
while a canopied trail leads to stalk

Following the sound
of each little raindrop
put me into a transient manner
where I rushed eagerly to the streams

Three fingers pointing the way
carving its nails into the green
this crystal liquid entity
settling my mind, lapping with ease

As swelling digits transform
I rest my head upon the fir
while lights of sky beams flash
signaling dripping perfect liqueur

The angle falling to the tongue
letting sips linger sifting sun
slips this drink down the throat
and I am sated, seeing perfect dreams

As the dream sprinkles dusting me clean
violin words sing of Melody
Her caress, Her speech, such proper
eloquence, free the tired soul

In a call of tongue to old
I say my prayer and head to home
awaiting Her arrival under canopy
dancing the devil, chanting decrees
