Promised  Colour

When I was Young
it was said
Of longing and loneliness
You can oft hear salted sighs
regrets upon the mist

I vowed never to leave
the path of a storm...

Fireflies dance within Her eyes
As She took my hand, gently
swaying upon cooing breeze
I kissed Her, ever so gingerly
wile smiles wry to howl

We laced a swing
around the old willow tree
casting our shine
to reticent evening
keeping motion, lost in time

White lightning flashed.
Upon a thread of silk
lay the dyeing
anguish of the past
coloured as always promised

She looked to me eye to eye
seeing always,hearing thunder boom
