Beauty Behind Glass
She looks into the camera,
FLASH,
beauty trapped
forever in a picture still,
waiting for her soul
to be captured by the night
life of the streets and sirens,
concrete corners and silver coins,
trying to make a living,
dying by daylight
like a vampire burning in the sun
with no escape from turning
to ashes.
Little by little we all waste
away though,
all the things we hold
precious,
in the end it's so trivial,
but we accept it by the masses.
Madness,
starvation,
if we don't eat we die
and I find that crazy,
so I've become a glutton
of food and drink,
no sanity or sobriety
so I write and think
about life and it's purpose.
...sleep deprived,
at least she tried
to smile for the camera,
in that lens of glass
the only thing that lasts
is the beauty inside the picture.
(Wrote this in one fluid thought, no editing, drinking vodka)
