Divining the Times

If I take off my man-mask,
will you see me as I really
am, more than a man, a vapor
trapped in skin, a whisp
within, a breath that's
waiting to exhale, a world
before being a man

I am more than I am, more
than you ascertain me to be,
only if you had the eyes to
see, the heart to perceive
Why walk around clothed in
violence and portents
While I remain silent, and
seek solace and knowledge

Faces of wrath, in this you
bathe till it becomes you,
this you become, carrying-out
calamity, till only a
consummation is what you see

Has all the world gone mad
with a blood-thirsty lust and
desire to end it all is an
universal must
Governmental prostitutes
selling it all for the filthy
lucre, till nothings left to
secure you

So look into the face of a
man, as though looking into a
mirror and skrying
Look and divine what will be,
cause he has it in his heart
what will be, in his heart
he holds eternity
