Oregonian

The year was 1996 I was only 21, still had
the sun in my eyes, I headed out west to,
Oregon to ascertain what would be my style
Grunge was the genre of the decade by which
we wrote the sound-track of our lives
Mother Love Bone, Nirvana, Alice in Chains,
godfathers of this era that have since died
Seattle was its birth-place and from their
it spread south into, Oregon and on into, Cali
spawning good riffs and jams

It has a good kind of vibe up in the, Pacific
North West, one not as oppressive as the feeling
here in the, "Dirty South,"
"Live and let Live," an unofficial motto that
residents live by, and enjoy working and having
fun in life
Mount Hood was a scenic place where we liked to
retreat, to do some camping, snow-boarding, dirt-
biking and fishing

Born in, Florida but lived their for fifteen years,
I now feel that to be, "Home," rather than here
Maybe I'll make it back up that way before my time
is done but if not I'm glad to have experienced it
and had the chance to be an, "Oregonian,"
