"We Detect Corruption"

"We Detect Corruption" By Marcus Cooke And Tom Quinton

"In brightest day
in blackest shite
no corruption
shall escape are sight
for those who worship
evils might
beware are power
punk poet detectives might"

We detect corruption
alter your assumption

To the Tesco's supermarkets
and the corrupt politicians
to the landlords renting
unsuitable living conditions,
we detect corruption
alter your assumption
You think no one was watching?
but we were watching
and we have seen some
very disturbing things,
from cash for questions
to political puppets on strings
to the corrupt police
and the tax on peace
we detect corruption
alter your assumption.
To the hate mongers
killing the future
for our kids
to the energy company's
siphoning off the energy grid
The stingy councilors
saving a couple of quid
to greedy bastards
forcing take over bids,
To the star crossed lovers
in a passionate embrace
to the CCTV operator
wanking off and
its tapes displaced,
To drug dealers
and the kiddy feelers
to false profits and healers
to the privatization of
care homes making money
from other people's misery.
we detect corruption
excuse are interruption.

To the predators of wars
and the media seeking whores
We're watching from a distance
hiding in government corridors
We detect corruption
We search and destroy
You infect the system
Manipulate every girl and boy
You tell us how to dress
Tell us what to read
Tell us what to think
But your eyes, do not deceive
Because we detect corruption
Your lies are not effective
You can run but you can't hide
From the punk poet detectives
We're blood hounds on your trail
Of your rancid putrid scent
We do this for the love of words
We ain't no 50 cent
We wear our hearts, on our sleeves
With integrity in our soul
We stand for freedom and peace
This is lyrical rock n roll
We detect corruption
For the ones without a voice
For our brothers and sisters
Who never had a choice.

We detect corruption
alter OUR assumption.
