Mommy, I'm Sick

A little girl
eyes dark, face green
throwing up like she't gonna die...
"Mommy, i'm sick"
'No you're not. get ready for school. now!'
the little girl spends the day with the nurse.

That little girl,
White as paper, shivering on the floor.
Cool sweat collecting on her skin...
"m-m-mommy....i'm s-sick"
'You're fine, stupid girl, go get dressed.'
Another day with the nurse.

Now that little girl and the nurse;
they began to get pretty close, day after day...
an interesting friendship.
lasting into the girl's teen years....

That same teenage girl
screaming at the top of her lungs
she can't do anything else.
her mind is so sick.

Her mom comes home to a silent house
looking for the girl, she finds her in her room...
What she sees is her little girl..
a foot off the ground..
held by a rope.

A note pinned to that little girl's dress;
"Mommy, I'm sick....Do you believe me now?"
