Hermaphrodite

in this vast space
darkness has coiled
waiting on dawn’s first light.

between the shimmer
of precious silver
and the waning of the night.

a portal opens
glistening sapphire blue
between this world and theirs.

they have many names
and many faces of sight
throughout these umbral lands.

voices that whisper
and linger, grazing
the ears of the wind.

footsteps heard
surrendering upon the
withered autumn leaves.

was this our world?
or possibly theirs?
in the years past.

did they fade away
into this universe
or do they remain to stay?

the conceived sons of Lilith
and the tender nectar of Eve's daughters
dwell in other worlds we have not glimpsed.

have we let these visions
slip past the corners of our eyes
to rest upon an unforeseen veil?

silent and shy
these ancient beings
bearing arcane magic from the past.
