In The Middle Of The Night
she lays in her bed, alone again tonight
she can't sleep and wishes she had someone to hold her tight
and words of love typed or spoken through her computers screen
is not the kind of love that she means, too much of that she has seen
so lonely is she
lonely and wishing that people could see
so many say she is tough, hard and cold
oh, how they would laugh at how she cries for someone to hold
her eyes are so sad,
a sadness she tries to hide by acting mean and mad
a long hot day
but sleep avoids her and like mist, always seems to slip away
her best friends are far away too
she doesn't fit in anywhere, she is like Tiger, only one not two
she sits alone in her school hallways
she is strange, she has chosen to be in her past days
but tonight she is just a lonely girl, tired and cold
her only wish for someone to hold.
