My Hometown

in my hometown
there were only a few clowns
you could fade into the white bricks
in my hometown we had both gangsters and hicks
we have nothing to do
except maybe smoke pot until your face is blue
or go to the library and read a book or two
or walk around looking for trouble with your friends or aka "your crew"
I was the freak
I was different in every way; the way i dressed(still dress), the way I acted, and the way I spoke(and still speak)
the love I longed for I never found
I grew up alone, I grew up where screaming and yelling was the only sounds
fight or be crushed
stand aside if you don't want to be rushed
it's ok to be a bitch
as long as you're not a snitch
nothing changes in our town, only little things
we will catch angels and clip their wings
this is how it is in my hometown: no stores no hospitals, no police stations
no hotels with fancy accommodations
no swimming pool
to get wet and cool
no, no we haven't any of that
and if you don't believe it, look it up, it's a fact
if you're new
don't expect everyone will except you
and heed my warning
don't go out after dark or in the early morning
and lock and hide everything
because there's thieves in my hometown and they'll steal anything
