Save Me
I used to think the world was a friendly place
until the pavement reached up and hit me in the face
knocking me down
holding me against the cold, hard, ground
people walked around me
over me
even stumbled upon me
but never did they once
stop
look
reach down
to help me
I pulled and I pushed
only to find myself
rooted in
shame
hate
and the reality of my own mistakes
nothing to look at from here
so I close my eyes
and picture the day
I can brake free
from the torture that wrapped itself around me
the cold chills that have become me
the day i stop looking for someone to save me
until the pavement reached up and hit me in the face
knocking me down
holding me against the cold, hard, ground
people walked around me
over me
even stumbled upon me
but never did they once
stop
look
reach down
to help me
I pulled and I pushed
only to find myself
rooted in
shame
hate
and the reality of my own mistakes
nothing to look at from here
so I close my eyes
and picture the day
I can brake free
from the torture that wrapped itself around me
the cold chills that have become me
the day i stop looking for someone to save me
