No matter that you close your eyes
You can still feel the pain
Because you can shut it away
You can run from it
But you can't lose it
totally and completely
It will always follow you
Always be there reminding you
What you have become
How it will someday take you whole
We fight it with pills
With therapy
But the darkness is always there
The pain is permanent
