We Cried
We cried because they made us look like scum.
We wept because they tore with words that we know not true.
We sobbed because they are among us and will do anything to destroy us.
Even their own.
We balled because we want it to stop.
The love turning hate that has consumed the youth through our very souls.
We scream because the words won't come out right.
We run when we can't fight.
We strike when we've had enough.
This godforsaken country has turned to mush.
Like our minds that were meant for brilliance among the stars.
We fought because we knew it had to stop.
We stood up because it seemed so right.
We stare into their very souls so absent of warmth because they have no heat.
We cried because our loved ones died.
