Masters of the night
Preserving civilization can be such an uncivilized pursuit.
Truth is some must covertly engage in the dark arts that the masses may openly enjoy the light. These elite few are the strong of heart and agile of mind; truly masters of their craft.
The masses pass judgment and speak nothing but ill. Ignorant to true roles of shepherds and sheep. For them the thought process is entirely too deep.
This experience called life is nothing but mirrors - best learn it now before it's too late.
Mirrors reflecting mirrors, true origin never to be found. Why does a mirror reverse left and right but not top and bottom? In reality a mirror doesn't reverse at all, it merely shows what's in front of it. The confusion lies within the viewer. Know this, truth is a shattered mirror; don't cut yourself on the shards.
They say the human soul is a forest, you know? Some are just way darker than others. The masters of the night trust and believe this to be true; no matter how dark one's forest appears from any point along the path, there is always a clearing letting in the light. The smaller the clearing, the more intense and valuable this glow. When eyes are opened to this knowledge strength of heart begins to grow.
Fate instead of self slowly becomes one's puppeteer when a lack of heart and blindness to light are found to be. Something once so innocent and true is now something terrifying and cruel. The weaker the heart, the stronger the strings. The stronger the strings, the more demands it brings. What does fate demand, you ask? Flesh and blood. Yes, flesh and blood. Few can meet this twisted demand. Even fewer without losing the light, these are the masters of the night.
Remember, Rome wasn't built in a day - it was built at night. The masses are grateful for the light because of the night. Stand tall and proud, my love. Let no one stop our misunderstood pursuit. For we are the shepherds of the sheep, the builders in the dark, the true masters of the night.
