The Devil Inside Me
When I am
Viewed as the devil
I begin to believe
That I am the devil
I will start acting like the devil
I will give them probable cause
To suspect me
To hate me
To fear me
I might be the devil
But I did not create myself
I cast internal damnation
Upon those who first
Casted it on me
At which point
The taste of revenge
Was a little too sweet
A little too addicting
I wanted others
To feel my pain
I want to shame them
As I was shamed
I want them to
Feel bad for being
Who they are
For being what
They were meant to be
They twisted the string of destiny
And inserted me in the yarn
To always happen
To always be there
To be their "example"
Well now they are my
Example
And darling
There just isn't
Any mercy left in me
Viewed as the devil
I begin to believe
That I am the devil
I will start acting like the devil
I will give them probable cause
To suspect me
To hate me
To fear me
I might be the devil
But I did not create myself
I cast internal damnation
Upon those who first
Casted it on me
At which point
The taste of revenge
Was a little too sweet
A little too addicting
I wanted others
To feel my pain
I want to shame them
As I was shamed
I want them to
Feel bad for being
Who they are
For being what
They were meant to be
They twisted the string of destiny
And inserted me in the yarn
To always happen
To always be there
To be their "example"
Well now they are my
Example
And darling
There just isn't
Any mercy left in me
