All I Ever Wanted
I've never asked a lot out of life,
don't want a mansion to live in,
no fancy cars, no diamonds or
too many shoes,
never wanted to be beautiful,
I did want to be 6' tall, but that didn't happen.
Never have received a Mother's Day card,
thought I might...once, was hoping anyway.
All I've wanted was someone to love me
and a place to call home,
enough room for those I love.
A place filled with love and warmth,
like fresh baked cookies and good coffee.
But here I am, alone, crying in the night.
don't want a mansion to live in,
no fancy cars, no diamonds or
too many shoes,
never wanted to be beautiful,
I did want to be 6' tall, but that didn't happen.
Never have received a Mother's Day card,

All I've wanted was someone to love me
and a place to call home,
enough room for those I love.
A place filled with love and warmth,
like fresh baked cookies and good coffee.
But here I am, alone, crying in the night.
