Be my nocturnal companion?
I need a nighttime friend
to help me escape sleep
when nightmares become dreams
I never wanted to have.
Stay awake with me
until I'm ready to collapse
then, when I nod off,
I'll dream of what we were doing last.
Send me off to nicer dreams
with fantasy creatures
and make believe monsters
I'm brave enough to fight.
When nightmares become dreams
and real life monsters
are taken by the hand,
help me escape, then.
Be my nighttime friend?
