Taking the lashes as they were given.
Keeping all of my cuts and bruises hidden.
Softly crying myself to sleep at night.
Begging God to make things alright.
Blood and tears run down my face.
One day they will be put in their place.
Just stay strong, darling. You'll be okay.
Just keep fighting. You'll find your way.
