i lay myself out
Today I lay myself out
Jewelry on the wood dresser
Hair down my spine
And pieces of clothing fall like
Perfumed, innocent rain drops
I go to open my rib cage and
Take out my heart
My lungs and,
Every vein, one by one
So you cant take my breath away
Here is my mind
My every frightened thought
My hopes and dreams and
Everything few and
Far in-between
I lay myself out
Bare
Scared
Hopeful but
Dreadfully aware
That you could go
Up in smoke
Like the rabbit
From the
Magic hat.
