marked skin [couldn't think of a better title, and that's been done]
marked skin
behind this eggshell white door.
it's time for a revolution
marked skin
on a politician
marked skin
on a scrawny punked out kid
marked skin
on a bright eyed activist
its time for a revolution
and not just the word
used to sell magazines
but the kind that spreads like wildfire
catches like a disease.
a great big revolution
like i'm always hearing about,
to save our souls
worth mere pennies
in any shred of morality.
always in places we don't belong
and always in my dreams
marked skin
on everybody in the car
and i have to imagine
this is truly living
the american dream.
...oh that's a good title,
the american dream.
behind this eggshell white door.
it's time for a revolution
marked skin
on a politician
marked skin
on a scrawny punked out kid
marked skin
on a bright eyed activist
its time for a revolution
and not just the word

but the kind that spreads like wildfire
catches like a disease.
a great big revolution
like i'm always hearing about,
to save our souls
worth mere pennies
in any shred of morality.
