Letter To My Friends...(Problem Seeds)

So she is sinking down slowly
feels like the walls are all closing
trying to self medicate
over the parts that she hates
her birthday just passed by
she didn't want to celebrate
I can never say what I think
she turned me into her shrink
for the past two or so years
it's been my listening ears
and a whole lot of bitching
and mistakes being made
I got a fridge full of lemons
but she doesn't like lemonade
I could try to pick her up
but I think, I think she's stuck.

This is a letter to all of my friends
who are speeding down alleys that lead to dead ends
and maybe it is something we all should have known.
problem seeds turn into problem trees when they are fully grown.

I wish that I could save him
or teach him how he can swim
through all of the maddening thoughts
that leave him all tangled in knots.
tell him it's not so complicated
pull your head up and just breathe
but he's been hanging out with charlie
and sure doesn't want to hear from me.
I still think he looks like sunshine
even if it's only on the outside.

This is a letter to all of my friends
who are speeding down alleys that lead to dead ends
and maybe it is something we all should have known.
problem seeds turn into problem trees when they are fully grown.

I don't think we saw it coming
we spent so much damn time running
and to what? overdoses and rehab?
when and were did we all go mad?
I close my eyes and wish real hard
to open them and be right where we are
plus one of us didn't make it out
her story ended that night in her car
we didn't bother aiming for the moon
and so we even missed the stars...

This is a letter to all of my friends
who are speeding down alleys that lead to dead ends
and maybe it is something we all should have known.
problem seeds turn into problem trees when they are fully grown.
