Brick People
I can not
drown with you
in a sea of pity,
not anymore
you enjoy it,
I find it stifling
it's taking the air from me,
I want to breathe, freely
your suffocating misery
is toxic to me,
and to my creativity
it's time to let you go
sink to the bottom
if that is what you choose
I can not help you
pull me down too
you like worry
and pats on the back,
I'm tired of humoring
I find it quite tiring
empathy is injury,
one from which I suffer,
but feeling you is
causing me to bleed, internally
so I'll leave you sinking
in your pool of woe is me,
and I'll go back to
the land of reality
drown with you
in a sea of pity,
not anymore
you enjoy it,
I find it stifling
it's taking the air from me,
I want to breathe, freely
your suffocating misery
is toxic to me,
and to my creativity
it's time to let you go
sink to the bottom
if that is what you choose
I can not help you
pull me down too
you like worry
and pats on the back,
I'm tired of humoring
I find it quite tiring
empathy is injury,
one from which I suffer,
but feeling you is
causing me to bleed, internally
so I'll leave you sinking
in your pool of woe is me,
and I'll go back to
the land of reality
