Trapped
The body ages
Apparent on the outside
The soul still young
Witnesses all the changes and
The things the body has done
The muscles stiffen
The bones begin to creek and ache
The soul still young and vibrant
Alas..

Another Dream
I have awakened from my nightmare
To a new life and beginning
The smell of life renewed around me,
Fills me with a sense of hope
My desire ignites and my feet carry me away
Through the park I dance this winters day
The colorful leaves bend and snap at my feet, barking
The cold winter air nips at my cheeks and turns them red
There is no sadness in my stride,
I am happy to be alive
I have awakened from my nightmare
To a new life and beginning
Listen to this old soul sing
It is happy to finally be out in the sunshine once again ...

A Dream
Digging
Digging
Digging for our dream
Sweat pouring
Stinging the eyes
Blurring the vision
But not the goal
Undeterred we toil
Through the smell of blood and despair
Our heads bowed in homage
To the God we sacrifice our youth to
In the hopes of being rewarded
Begging to be heard
We look to the skies
Heavy with rain

As our dream

Little lies to comfort me,

The fight ensues
At the break of dawn
And continues
All day long
One side struggles
To maintain face
The other side fights
To ensnare it

LOVE POEM

Ignorance was Bliss
Alive,
Was what I thought I was
Happy and content to just be
But then something grew
A stir of feelings
Awakened from a place long abandoned
The empty cavernous space
Where my heart use to reside
It sought this barrenness out and
Filled me up
Fulfilled was just sated after all
I danced upon the sun
On tender toes without a singe
I was untouchable in my mind
A giant amongst gnats
Alas,
It is gone now and
I overflow with grief and pain
To the bowels of hell
With one felled swoop
Now I can't...
Was what I thought I was

Somber shadows
Crouch at your feet
To wail the song
Of ultimate defeat
They writhe and grab
At your soul
To weaken the will
And break its hold
With darkening skies
And no end in sight

Young Love
Love is sweeter at the start
When all is new and seems alive
We both carry our hearts on our sleeves and
Profess our love to all we meet
There is a never ending yearn to see each other
Every minute of the day
Our minds wander and walk together
Every chance they get
The endless flow of love
Comes in torrents from a well deep within us
A deluge never ending
Or so it seems
We can't see the other side of happiness and
Are sad that others have fallen apart

Doubt
My soul sends the voice in my head
That yells to be heard
That yells to be right
That yells to steer the body.
The heart in my chest hears the voice
And longs to run
Longs to reach out and love
Longs to have fun.
The brain in my head delays
It is not ready
It is unsure
It is scared
Too late..
The moment has passed

Intruders
And they came
As I peeped
On dancing toes afraid to tread,
In great hoards
With a multitude of flailing arms and
Things mightier than swords clutched in them.
To my door
To rap, to rap
To rap the frenzied unyielding rap
Their shadows dancing beneath my gate
Hissing, Spitting
Writhing over each other
For a glance
For the chance to be first
To taste the skin between the fangs
And inject their poison
Dressed to kill in their sleekest skin
With greed in their eyes and
Deception on their breath. ...

The sky is crying
To cleanse away
The sins of today
And make anew
The canvas of tomorrow

At the horrific scenes
Played upon the land
Cruel and blood ridden
Man upon fellow man
The sky is crying
For the hope that ebbs away
And no savior in sight
The sky is crying
For the coming
Of our twilight
