A Chance to Learn From a Mistake
A baby born who grew to be
A brother, lover and a son,
A young man liked by everyone,
A man just starting life's career,
A night which started with some beer,
A drink which led to just one more,
A key which opened a car door,
A car which failed to take a bend,
A life which was about to end,
A life which was so incomplete,
A tree which stood beside the street,
A second to regret and pray,
A crash which happened anyway,
A body splattered everywhere,
A heart which shattered in despair,
A grief which never goes away,
A grief which...

Ode to Love
Love is straightforward, and is unflawed,
Love brings no sword to sow discord.
Love clarifies and opens eyes,
Love tells no lies and never dies.
Love is the word that all have heard,
Love does not boast it is the most,
Love is no sham, and no mere man,
Love is not fake, nor a mistake,
Love is a creed that's true indeed,
Would it be odd if love is god?
Love brings no sword to sow discord.

Ritual Victuals
And still they swill from holy grail,
The wine of grapes to no avail,
Drinking booze and reminiscing,
Thinking hard but ever missing,
Each and every simple meaning,
Present in the merely seeming.
A name recalled and glorified,
But no one really fortified,
The starving are forgotten, and,
Still they've yet to understand.

You Never Know What Love Can Bring
You never know what love can bring,
From fleeting flirts or casual flings,
That hardly mean the slightest thing,
To love that leads you down the aisle,
Sometimes love can make you smile.
But love has cons as well as pros,
As every wife or husband knows.
You may regret becoming bound,
If your marriage causes terror,
And it's only then you've found,
That you’ve made a dreadful error.
But if your love is firm and true,
If you're sure you've found the one for you,
Then go ahead and say 'I do',
Provided that you're well aware,...

I Love You Deeply But Show it Cheaply
I love you deeply but show it cheaply,
My love's beyond the common sort,
It can't be measured by what I've bought,
You won't see me spend large amounts,
Because it is the thought that counts.
And so I have no ring for you,
There is no ring that I could bring,
To represent the full extent,
Of the feelings I have for you.
No mine of gold could ever hold,
The richness which your heart contains,
No stone on earth is close to worth,
The beauty which your soul proclaims.
I've looked in shops but nothing tops
The brilliance...

When Things Go Sour With Nuclear Power
Nuclear power's the dumbest thing
That's ever been invented.
It's been debunked, we know it's junk,
And ought not implement it.
When things go sour with nuclear power
We'll all be up shit creek.
When things go sour the doomsday hour
Might even be next week.
Nuclear terror, human error,
It's just not right to risk it.
There's been debate, it's second rate,
The time is right to ditch it.
When the mushroom clouds are flowering
And the radiation's showering,
We'll all be getting cancers,
There'll be no second chances, ...
That's ever been invented.

Love not blind
Love not blind but kinder still than nature's prayer,
Made life and then the law of love which never lied,
Bathed their hearts but not their eyes with light.
They played their parts and had their daily share
Of bread for some had none to eat in sight.
And come what may they did not care,
For come what may the things they did were right.
The way was plain to see, it was plainly right to share,
That load, at least, was light to bear.
And none did not believe in what was right,
All the seers saw that it was right to care.
Where faith and works were one...
Made life and then the law of love which never lied,
Bathed their hearts but not their eyes with light.
They played their parts and had their daily share

And come what may they did not care,
For come what may the things they did were right.

A Bum Steer, or What?
Would a god be seen to float,
When alighting from a boat, or yacht?
Is god a guy who'd see a need,
To sacrifice a child who he'd begot?
Would he revel in our praises,
And speak in mystic phrases, a lot?
Would he really seek to burn us
Within a fiery furnace, or not?
Would he have us build a church,
Leaving people in the lurch, forgot?
If you asked for help of any type,
Would he run and be there like a shot?
When he went to save the dying
Did he stroll there sadly crying, or trot?
Did he get up on a cross and groan?
Would he sit upon...

Distracted by Attraction
Yesterday I thought of you,
Not doing what I ought to do,
My mind's not where it's meant to be,
I think about you endlessly.
I should be cramming for a test,
And making sure I do my best,
But who can concentrate on books,
When you give me such sexy looks?
I dream of you by night and day,
Your beauty blows me right away,
Why must you look so goddam good
That I can't do the things I should?
If I can't stop these thoughts of you,
I don't know what I'm gonna do,
My life was turning out okay,
Now I'm a flop in...
Not doing what I ought to do,
My mind's not where it's meant to be,

Immortal Duty
The world I scorn, I must perform my one immortal duty,
To write of you and ever bear due witness to your beauty.
There is no rose that can disclose the charm which you possess,
No plant that blooms is such a boon, or has your loveliness.
No artist drew, no lover knew, a figure such as yours,
Nobody born has had a form so free of faults or flaws.
No earthly view approaches you, your grandness is complete,
No daffodils, nor fields or hills, are able to compete.
The dawn of day cannot convey a semblance of your grace,
No sunrise can do better...

I love you more and more each day,
I love you each and every way,
I love you more than I can say,
I love you more than words convey,
