A Girl Named Indigo
They say she descended after one summer storm
Like a pretty reverie arched right out of the blue
With eyes so expressive as if they whispered secrets
That men were entranced by that delightful hue
Some say she emerged from the sea late after dusk
A balance of dark and light that nature surely dyes
Designed and crafted by the hand of a divine being
Because the ocean depths were captured in her eyes
Others will tell you she rose from a field of flowers
As if the flora had tinted her windows to the soul
Bearing a delicate semblance of...

DARK POEM

Infestation of the Bawdy Snatchers
They don’t lurk in the shadows like they used to
Instead, they hide behind a device with prying eyes
Closely watching their every step, move and action
Sometimes approaching them with convincing lies
Oftentimes they cast a net with maliciously intent
As a young innocent victim falls for their trap
And much to their horror they find themselves
Fighting to find what they lost by a click in a snap
But then I sound the warning horn from the deep
Scanning the figures that fell all the way through
And with calculations I sit there in...
Instead, they hide behind a device with prying eyes

Chaos and Confusion
The world has gone into chaos and confusion
Of sheer virtual delusions against reality
Relying on whispers and magic spells
Reeled in by unstable notions of morality
Even the sagest seem to have lost their way
Not really seeing how their vision has gone dark
Their moral compasses compromised
Sowed by greed where creed used to be the mark
Over time they’ve sold their souls to absurdity
Fighting demons that are not really there
In constant adulation of their own creations
Never being able to awake from the nightmare
So, the world keeps...

Dogs and Cats
They’re eating the dogs, they’re eating the cats
They’re probably being served with a side of rat
I bet they’ve been told they’re consuming the bats
It’s the kind of head gear you’d get from an ass hat
They’re deep-frying hush puppies and grilling kittens
And if they’re baking don’t forget to bring some mittens
It’s like swinging at a web in the face that suddenly hit you
Hungry and thirsty for more hair of the dog that bit you
They’re roasting the wieners with a side of feline
Expecting to see hundreds out in the street waiting in line...
They’re probably being served with a side of rat
I bet they’ve been told they’re consuming the bats

To Write a Sonnet or Not to Write
To write a sonnet or not to write…tight
The question is...can you stick to the form?
If you do participate in this rite…right
Then you best be prepared for a brain...storm
Old Shakespeare used to spill his ink with ease
For some it takes years to improve the art
But to be clear it’s not always a breeze
When the rhymed lines come straight from the heart
You just have to practice and exercise
While you’re at it add some wordplay and pun
Proofread and comprise, edit and revise
Then you’ll see composing sonnets is fun
...
The question is...can you stick to the form?

ON THE GO
and she came into town with a late summer breeze
Like something so retro but never seen before
Setting hearts afire bringing them to their knees
With a glimpse of heaven leaving them wanting more
It was in the look and how they breathed this dream
Lost in the secret of her windows to the soul
They could be easily carried away downstream
Into vivid fantasies that can take their toll
She carried herself with an energetic style
A bright future of endless possibilities
And they’d surrender to that contagious smile
Like a trail of...

You don’t want this hurt
The wounds, they will run deep
And though they’ll heal you’ll still feel a burn
Knowing you’ve earned every one of them
For every serious loss, for every little feat
When I look at these scars
I remember all the spars
But you, you’ll question your faith and all that you believe
And yet time, for the time being, is on your side
Listen to your gut feeling

Preoccupation with Size
He’s got a weird preoccupation with size
Telling everyone that his is always bigger
He’ll tell you not to believe your own eyes
But late at night you can see he’s triggered
He’ll spread key words being subliminal
Listen closely and his NLP is very crafty
But what can you expect from a criminal
Disagree with him and he’ll call you nasty
Overconfidence disconnects from reality
Delusions of grandeur put people in a trance
As the stories and lies he yells are just banality
Now he’s stuck with shady and can’t advance

The Dreams We Had
and tell me, whatever happened to those dreams we had?
Did they fade away into some forgotten memory?
Or did they come true and yet somehow you still feel sad
When you look back at that drawn out trajectory
And tell me about the plans you laid out and sought out
Did all the plot points on your map ever take you there?
Were you sure footed without a shadow of a doubt?
Not realizing you took the wrong chart everywhere
Tell me about that dream you always dreamed and never told
Like wishes when blowing candles on your birthday cake...
