I think I've found myself again
though she was never really lost
a work of art that remains unfinished
nearly bared of all the briars, vines and moss
gratitude is a new feeling
generating a gentle teardrop in my eye
decades of pain forever throbbing
taught me to sweetly sing my children lullabies
looking in the mirror is still uncomfortable
I have made peace with my ghost
we stare at one another in silence
I touch the place I once bled from my throat
confident insecurities
anchored with heightened anxiety ...

I'm so split
counterfeit
all this work that I've done
looks like I'm blindfolded with a gun
misperceived
reality
is going to be
the death of me
these demons feed
on anarchy
it is haunting me
I have nowhere to run
I am out of my mind
is it real this time?
I can't catch my breath
always racing time
too many things I've left
I am never right
sink those teeth in deep
take a bite of my life
will I make it out...

The Gray
I think about the things that we used to be
drifting away through the stars; just a memory
they're never far, but I'll never feel him close to me
I revisit the ruined corridors of my mind
and weep for the love lost between the cracks
I assisted in the poisoning of our innocence
crushed beneath the weight of my own sin
pulled to the sound of my children's laughter
I cry on the floor of an abandoned nursery
the face of blame has found a place upon me
waiting until the smoldering embers had died
when I am all that remains...

all this time
going round and round
open my eyes
I am upside down
shedding my scales
feeling naked now
dark rituals
submerged never to drown
bite my skin
remind me where I've been
reap and sow
there is no afterglow
where do the wise ones go
to disappear
the only place I know to hide
is right here
can you see me?
fighting to go nowhere
fill the void
in beautiful nightmares
I count the coins
keep them in my pocket
worship everyday
become a sleep shaped...

soul searching like every night
I'm just trying to find the love of my life
reach into the broken place inside
the feeling of home so familiar and I
pray to gods that haven't answered
they intervene when I seek death, but
what's really happening to me?

gravitational pull, self-manifested sun
pull me closer into radiant warmth
kiss my skin with ultraviolet tongue
trails of gold spread within the spit
should my bones break
beneath the weight of lover's galaxy
ascensional recipe we create
fingers tracing a chosen face
molten mouthing lava and lace
in hidden flower creates a lake
a fortress of stone beneath the waves
throne fit for a kingdom when we play
lap the blood from my scars
disintegrate my facade
melting ice forged within my youth
no shielding...

Point Nemo
rippling darkness
I float on the surface
shimmering canopy
brings tears to my eyes
a world painted black
and surrounded by teeth
heavy hitch when I breathe
there's no light on the inside
at least not this time
the empty abyss beneath me
chilling my spine
I swallow the scream
isn't this a dream?
drowning from within
my impulses shivering
jackhammer in my chest
I lost the bet again
drifting to the offing
dragging air into my lungs
taste the salt falling from the orbs
stretching fingers out ...
