Imagination
As the mornings grow colder
The seasons unfold
Autumn is coming
But we never grow old
A full moon is rising
Now the waxing, now wane
Then the new moon greets us
We are children again
The star canopy delights us
Hidden fireflies excite
Running through the forest
Dreaming together tonight
The sun rise tomorrow
In the cool autumn breeze
Will fill our minds again
And plant a new seed
Finding hidden paths
We navigate the way
Holding hand in hand
To the myth of old age

Infinity
From the womb of the galaxy
We came spiraling down
Sparkling treasure of stardust
Cascading all around
We condensed into matter
Separate bodies forming shape
And for everything we've known
We have given a name
For the sun is our father
Phasing moon tells time
The earth is our mother
All easily defined
But two mysteries remain
Myths to be dispelled
Universal expansion
And the mind; parallel
We came spiraling down

The Grind
Wake up you’re just dreaming
Alarm blaring sunrise
Rinse off all your feelings
Settle in for the ride
Monday through Friday
From eight to five
Two or more hours
On interstate sixty nine
Eighty miles an hour
Clock in right on time
Plug into the system
Sacrifice your mind
Calculating equations
Breaching overtime
Forget about feeling
Just feed the bottom line
Five o’clock rolls around
Relief floods through your spine
Power down and unplug
Welcome back to your mind

Paean
Wintry wilting words
Whisked wistfully from her lips...
I’ve endeavored storms
I’ve felt the thistling thorns
Contemplations I’ve adorned ;
Busy embodiment of sacrilege
Abstruse confusions left amiss
Crucifix betwixt
Whistling wayward to new serendipities
Exalting forthright impassioned deities
I bow ~Namaste to thee

Indignation
Like the tide
You rip me away
To a place
Where we stay
Young, forever...
We blaze
And dazed
The days
Are a haze
Of smoke...
Underwater
Mountains high
Think we’re flying
In the sky
But in the morning
Spit ashore
Crawling whore
Of dissatisfaction
I rise and start
Get ready and go
A slave of
Indignation
I wonder why
Is he immune
To the subjugations
Of oppression?
Are these just lies
Starry eyed ...
You rip me away
To a place
Where we stay

Get away!
Or stay, tamed-
no preference,
just the same.

Hey, what’s that?
Over there?
No, there!
Stand tall,
look straight!
Do you see
o’er the gate?
Fresher bales
of weed
or greener bud?
No, me either.
Now what’s that
under-toe?
Oh, the road
that you chose?
Hmmm…
Now reaping
what you sowed;
was all a show.
Not sure ...

Tribute
Sometimes I will say too much or too little
Hope they don’t think I’m self absorbed or fickle
Truth is I have found sanctuary
Amongst fellow poets here on DUP
Truth is I can hardly believe
Cut myself out for so long from society
Is this real? How could I have not known?
A place like this exists, my heart grows
With every write, the darkness is decomposed
A world to which I’ve never been exposed
Stumbled upon this place when I had no other option
A happenstance I embrace with open arms, I am adopted
...

wherever
you go
putrid puke
spilling
from your
lips
in gross
statements
that demean
dissolve me
to my bones
in burning
bodily acids
crisply cutting
to my core
singeing
my heart
suffocating
no retort
not allowed
in your house
let’s play
a game...
OBEY
sit be quiet
stay
don’t leave me
you’ll say
next
so scripted
think you’re

then backflip ...
