POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
Saying of the day: "live your life"
her
she was kind
she was strong
she gave me hope
she showed me wrong
there were times
it was hard
hard to try hard
to even think
but she was there
and she knew me
she held on
I knew she cared.
she was strong
she gave me hope
she showed me wrong
there were times
it was hard
hard to try hard
to even think
but she was there
and she knew me
she held on
I knew she cared.

Sing-Song
Tribble dribble
Dripping ripping
Here I see the end
There they saw me break and bend
Wish wash
Criss cross
Holding up your hands
Griped and wrapped in bands
Scribble scrabble
Ricket racket
Write it all down fast
leave it in the past
Pish posh
Tisk task
Now hold your eager tongue
Repeat tunes you've sung
Drea bai
Tick tock
And though our time's long
Look's your time's all gone
Dripping ripping
Here I see the end
There they saw me break and bend
Wish wash
Criss cross
Holding up your hands
Griped and wrapped in bands
Scribble scrabble
Ricket racket
Write it all down fast
leave it in the past
Pish posh
Tisk task
Now hold your eager tongue
Repeat tunes you've sung
Drea bai
Tick tock
And though our time's long
Look's your time's all gone

A Sweet Penance
A revelation?
sweet salvation?
running
praying
a message to remember?
blessings in disguise?
he said to believe
gave my sins leave
something to buy
reasons to try
he gave me forgiveness in each bite
he showed me the demons to fight
shuffling
paying
something to say sorry for
a snack to remember there's more
sweet salvation?

a message to remember?
blessings in disguise?
he said to believe
gave my sins leave
something to buy
reasons to try
he gave me forgiveness in each bite
he showed me the demons to fight

a snack to remember there's more

Lines
One thin line crosses the pale surface
crooked
shallow
unsure
One red line too difficult to form
Two thin lines lay on the pale surface
one crooked
one curved
both questionable
Two red lines too soft to feel
Three thins litter the pale surface
one crooked
one curved
one jagged
Three red lines too light to see
Four thin lines drawn on the pale surface
three uneven
three unsure
one straight
Four red lines to feel again
crooked

Lost
Where do you go when you've forgotten the paths you paved years before? When The cement streets crack and crumble to gravel then dust then nothing but sand beneath your miss led feet. When the rain rolls roads wrong ways, do you follow the trails of the wet dirt? Maybe this muddy march is fate. Maybe this is nothing and nonsense. Maybe you're becoming nothing but lost. Maybe you're as lost as you allow yourself to be within yourself. Maybe lost is nothing but a discomfort, a snare in the delicate afghan of your life plans. Maybe you can't weave and sew against an already set destination and...

Frozen Halfway
Well here you are again
asking me for my gaces.
Here you are on your knees.
Here you are
folding your bloody knuckles
Here you are
begging,
pleading.
Here you are
growing louder,
louder,
screaming
to yourself
and to your god for pardons.
Why do you come to me
for an eternal salvation
when you know damn well
I have none to give.
I’m no healer,
no saint,
no messiah of yours fool.
I’m your dealer.
I keep you alive.
I keep you numb,
long enough to come back ...
asking me for my gaces.
Here you are on your knees.
Here you are
folding your bloody knuckles
Here you are
begging,
pleading.
Here you are
growing louder,
louder,
screaming
to yourself
and to your god for pardons.
Why do you come to me
for an eternal salvation
when you know damn well
I have none to give.
I’m no healer,

no messiah of yours fool.
I’m your dealer.
I keep you alive.
I keep you numb,
long enough to come back ...

Swings at Recess
First the wait
Tick
Tock
Shuffling foot to foot
Then my turn to rule
Scrambling to my seat I start
Swinging And swaying higher
Higher
Higher
And now I'm a superhero
A fairy
A bird
I'm flying faster
Faster
Faster
Running against the screaming wind
Somehow its as if the success of my height
Is the greatest of any before it
Pumping and swinging my legs in a robotic trend
Reach
Reach
Reach the goal
RIIIING
School bell rings to end my play
¨You looked like you were having fun, huh?¨
¨Yeah...¨

Five Minute Write
7:52
Music on repeat to drown out everything I'll sit here and I'll go numb
7:53
I'll let the scream of melodies tear though my mind and go numb
7:54
I'll stab my keyboard with each letter till my fingers go numb
7:55
Click. Click. CLICK. I'll finish this soon as I go numb
7:56
My new song throws my rhythm but not the pain to keep me numb
7;57
Five minutes gone I guess now I'm done.

Tell Me Friend
What's another jab?
A prick, a prod, a stab?
What's another kick?
A low blow, a dirty trick?
Tell me FRIEND, what's it to you?
Tell me FRIEND, what's left to rue?
What's another lie?
A loss, a reason to sigh?
What's another fight?
A battle, a war, a hellish sight?
Tell me FRIEND, What's left to say?
Tell me FRIEND, what's it you pray?
What's another mistake?
A problem, a new blow to take?
What's another end?
A reminder, a now old friend?
Tell me FRIEND, what's got you caught?
Tell me...

I Remember
I remember the fun we had
I remember you seemed so glad
Little and long happy talks
Near and far healthy walks
I remember you fixed the bad
I remember you, my granddad
I remember the bubbles and fun
I remember the games I won
Stories that held morals to live by
Smiles that made me want to try
I remember your walk to my run
I remember the camp songs I've sung
I remember how you were there
I remember when you brushed my hair
Warm hugs with no ends
Cheering me through my flips and bends
I remember the smile you'd wear...
I remember you seemed so glad
Little and long happy talks
Near and far healthy walks
I remember you fixed the bad
I remember you, my granddad
I remember the bubbles and fun
I remember the games I won
Stories that held morals to live by
Smiles that made me want to try
I remember your walk to my run
I remember the camp songs I've sung
I remember how you were there
I remember when you brushed my hair
Warm hugs with no ends
Cheering me through my flips and bends
I remember the smile you'd wear...

What is Lost
What happens to the writing that's lost in the wind?
The lyrics and speech you burn with desperate passion in your own mind,
only to have dusk of dreams sleepy breeze
cool it to ash and whisk it away.
Morning light holds a trap of inspiration.
New glimmering beauty like a blessing to your heart and your pen,
yet this light only shines one way.
Where do the forgotten notes go?
Do they leave to travel the world and its ever changing rhythm?
Can these lost songs and stories collect in a golden heaven of their own?
The dreams that die,
and the beliefs...
