accepting abel
like paper thin everything,
orange amounts of energy
makes you hungry
fertility
yet still maintaining virginity
the sun grew us
it's children
and if abel can take that
he can take anything
...
god said
let there be rocks
and let there be men,
so i say
that's where our story begins
with him.

separate speakers for the same thing [peacock arms]
different names
for musty moraine
that stay the same
begin.
peacock arms
like feathered wings,
they speak in nostalgic tones
sliver deck
with words that ruminate
right off the tongue
spider fingers,
i feel like one of the guys.
for musty moraine
that stay the same
begin.

the neophyte must take novice at this time
respite,
in all the things
running through his mind
don't try
and cajole me
with those eyes.
the child straggling behind it's mother
begs for
respite,
this wasn't ever ecclesiastical
in spite.

don't try

this wasn't ever ecclesiastical

no room for explanation
-[what it says]-
un-named city, it was late
the street was lined with thugs.
i mistakenly went
into this very
strange shop
i could smell the bleach.
the room alone, made me queasy
then i noticed the blood had been
cleaned,
but not her body.
and he fucking defiled it.

its an age old saying, but nothings going to change the world
all we can do
is anything to better ourselves
one person at a time.
a hybrid car
won't save this planet
a rally in the streets
won't make a better society
a punk rock song
isn't going to change anything
but you.
a good job, big house, and happy family
won't stop you from dying
poverty, homelessness, and a greedy government
won't stop you from living.
is anything to better ourselves
one person at a time.

seatbelt talk
the fading break lights
red,
and i can see
the shadows of people
crossing the road
but only in them.
i felt like i had cursed his car,
here with us
there is only honor
among thieves
and no pillow talk
just long conversations
on even longer car rides
but other people use this van
and over this exact hill
every time
into a sea of lights
i so unnecessarily deem
a city
is a girl whose face i've never seen
i only know her name
and that she broke my heart ...

ripped hole in my under where?
feels like a violation
unwanted water
on the page
engage
in unhaunted banter
a calling
a rape.
because of who i am
its all just something
to write about
but a ripped hole
in my panties
better mean
a demon gets it's wings.

summer legs
summer begs
grass below my bare feet
used to always remind me
of being a child
in the country
catching bugs
climbing trees
making forts out of vines
and twigs tangled with leaves
playing in the the back yard
watching salmon fight
in the town's famous creek
games of hide and seek
in the dead of night
with no moon out
you couldn't even believe the dark
crouching in the weeds.
but that was all long ago
now my feet, flat and bare on the grass ...

used to always remind me
of being a child

girls, lets be best friends, please, oh please, i'll do anything
because this world
needs more sisterhood
and i'm sick
of being that one girl
in an entire group of guys,
since birth
its happened all the time
and everybody always thinks
they're running the train on me.
so now i'm spending my time
looking for miss right
and i try to encourage support
among all women
but don't call me a feminist
because i fucking love dick
i love fucking dick
but i'm sick
so sick ...
needs more sisterhood
and i'm sick
of being that one girl
in an entire group of guys,
since birth
its happened all the time
and everybody always thinks
they're running the train on me.
