POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Pearls
PEARLS
The chittering hum
Of big green bugs
Rattles the trees around me
For miles you can hear
The quick
And steady
Midday lullabye
While leaves rustle about
On branches they sit
Humming away under eaves of shade
A playful song
To tease your ears
While beads of salty sweat
Plead away under the beating sun
To drip down my face
And past my ears
Where a breeze finds them
And they cool into little pearls on the skin
Only to be wiped away
On the edge of my skirt ...
The chittering hum
Of big green bugs
Rattles the trees around me
For miles you can hear
The quick
And steady
Midday lullabye
While leaves rustle about
On branches they sit
Humming away under eaves of shade
A playful song
To tease your ears
While beads of salty sweat
Plead away under the beating sun
To drip down my face
And past my ears
Where a breeze finds them
And they cool into little pearls on the skin
Only to be wiped away
On the edge of my skirt ...

Staring at your cold blue hands
And milky white eyes
I do not regret what I have done.
I can't say I'll ever have remorse
But now I lay down
And touch your cold skin.
By the end of the hour
I'll be deflated
And melted into you.
We will finally be one
Together at last
And we will finally be free.
And milky white eyes
I do not regret what I have done.
I can't say I'll ever have remorse
But now I lay down
And touch your cold skin.
By the end of the hour
I'll be deflated
And melted into you.
We will finally be one
Together at last
And we will finally be free.

Rot
In the mud I found her,
Being eaten by worms.
Her skin looked like paper,
And her hair like thorns
She reached to me, with a finger of bone,
And told me I would never be alone.
Laying in the mud,
I layed down too.
I grasped her hand, and set it on mine,
Turned my head and looked in her eyes.
The sunken in caverns, veiled in flesh,
Reminded me that there was nothing left.
I kissed her softly on her cheek,
Then left her in her place to sleep.
With tender hands, I covered her bones, ...
Being eaten by worms.
Her skin looked like paper,
And her hair like thorns
She reached to me, with a finger of bone,
And told me I would never be alone.
Laying in the mud,
I layed down too.
I grasped her hand, and set it on mine,
Turned my head and looked in her eyes.
The sunken in caverns, veiled in flesh,
Reminded me that there was nothing left.
I kissed her softly on her cheek,
Then left her in her place to sleep.
With tender hands, I covered her bones, ...

Tulips
I hate tulips,
But you and your two lips.
Pulled me deep into your grasp,
And promised me that it would last.
You held me high when I was low,
And promised me the world below.
But tulips lie, and tulips hurt,
Then I fell into the dirt.
But you and your two lips.
Pulled me deep into your grasp,
And promised me that it would last.
You held me high when I was low,
And promised me the world below.
But tulips lie, and tulips hurt,
Then I fell into the dirt.

It hurts when it rains
I sit in the sun as she burns my flesh.
Like hot irons on my skin, I feel the blisters begin.
This scorching, summer sun blinds me, heals me.
The water left by the spring rains is gone.
It can hurt me no more.
The bright light sings my name.
She sings to my heart.
And soothes my soul.
Consoles my brain.
And caresses my bones.
I know she loves me.

Lullaby
Kiss me softly on my cheek,
This may be the last we meet.
You hold me tightly in your arms,
And promise me to do no harm.
But I feel the grip getting tighter, and tighter,
And I feel my head getting lighter, and lighter.
I gaze into your soft blue eyes,
And know that this is goodbye.
You breathe me in, ‘till my last breath,
And hold me ‘till there’s nothing left.
I listen to your heart still beat,
As I drift into my sleep.
