Stepping forward
Through the crowd
Her feet numb
Not feeling ground
Pitiful eyes watch
She looks down
Not making contact
Dreading human touch
Weaving through the people
She crosses the room
To a chair and sits
Tearful her lips tremble
Lifting her gaze; she smiles
Inside she screams;
"don't you dare say it!"
"You can't know how this feels!"

All that is gold
Autumn winds dance
Enticing flora to descend
Surrounded by leaves of gold
A trees bow bends
A breeze once playful
Now cold and harsh
Taking all that's golden
No reason or remorse
Bracing against the wind
Branches grow limp
Weeping for lost gold
Grieves the Willow from within

DON'T TELL ME WHAT I AM THINKING!
Just because I chose not to engage
Or I don't offer my opinion
Listened to you rant without mimicking
My silence is not passive
Should not be mistaken for meek
Or in agreement with your words
Don't assume I've submissive
What I am is respectful
Of your blithe; drama
Your need to share every peve
All experiences awful

There was a close family
All holidays were celebrated

cheezzzburger
As the sun rises
Light beams brightly
Tearing through
Tightly shut blinds
Another sleepless night
Watching the clock
Praying for rem
Eyes shut tight
And then they start
No melody
Not poetic in song
Singing a bark
"Cheezzzburger"
"Cheezzzburger"

The birds outside taunt
They laugh in song
As they make fun
On a branch they jaunt
Cheezzzburger!

Invisible
Just because you close your eyes;
Doesn't mean you're invisible
Look at what you left
You can't deny all the lies
The stories you told
You wrecked me
You made me weak
Beat me to the ground
But things changed
I grew up
Stood up
No longer afraid
You didn't break me
I am stronger than you
I am untouched
Wiser and now free
It's over
Forever; always
I don't think about you
Ever
Doesn't mean you're invisible
Look at what you left
You can't deny all the lies

As an anchored ship
The memory of us
Weighs me down
Like a heavy brick
In fifteen short years
You gain freedom
Time served;
Parole and release
On that very day
My sentence begins
I'll fear every shadow
Keep strangers at bay
Sleepless, awake, I'll listen
For bumps in the night
Suspicious of every sound
Now caged in my own prison
The prison you left behind.

Weighs me down
