I have been writing poetry since middle school and it has stuck with me since then. I tend to write about real life situations and everything in between.
OBSERVATIONAL POEM

Temporary Fix
Smoldering eyes watching my every move
Even when you did not look at me. I never
Felt that you had the need to prove
Something to me and to yourself. Whatever
This was, it was only going to be temporary
And never permanent. In that moment I needed
Something opposite of light and airy.
I wanted something fiery and we succeeded
In having that. I felt the need to be wanted.
I know that this was only a temporary fix.
There was no need to be bonded
To you forever. This was not a time for tricks
And games. You played them and me well. ...
Even when you did not look at me. I never
Felt that you had the need to prove
Something to me and to yourself. Whatever
This was, it was only going to be temporary

Always Mine
From the first moment I held your hand
In mine, I definitely knew that this was
Something magical. As I stand
With my head against your heart, the ice thaws
And melts away. I am left feeling your
Unwavering strength. You see the flaws
In me and still love me anyways. You pour
Your love into me so I am feeling full and you
Show me that life is more than being grandeur.
Life is more than enjoying the view.
Sometimes we have to see life from
The very bottom also. You are always trying to
Keep the skies blue....
In mine, I definitely knew that this was

Rose Colored World No More
Everything, including the sky is tainted.
You showed me that much before. I wish
That you would have painted
Me the whole clear sky, but it is too childish
And romantic to do that in your eyes.
You never know that you are being too selfish
And insecure. Can I say final my goodbyes?
If only you saw it all from my perspective
Then you would not be complaining. My highs
Were better that what you could give
Me in the end. You did not care to know
About my lows either. You were being evasive
And avoiding the obvious truth. This...
You showed me that much before. I wish
That you would have painted

Your True Colors
My feelings were hidden from view.
I never wanted to hide what
I was feeling away from you.
Deep down in my gut
And intuition was the truth
That everything was going to cut
Me deep. It did nothing to soothe
My irrational fears of you leaving.
It turned out that I saw your true
Being and colors shining
On through. I prayed for some
Miracle. I thought it would bring
You and I back in rhythm like a drum.
We got out of sync and you were no
Longer a part of this dance. I feel numb.
You and I were supposed to go...

I was feeling away from you.

Follow Me
My only wish is to get away from
The city, a place where the noise is
Too loud and the lights are too bright.
I want to go to that place where I can
See the stars clearly and where there are
No sounds of the cars passing by. I want
Nothing more than you to follow me there.
There we are more than just face to face
And heart to heart. We are soul to soul
As you can hear the whispers of my heart
And I can hear the beating of yours.
I want nothing more than to feel your
Fingers interlaced with mine so that

You only think of me as poison ivy, as you think
I am killing everything within reach. Be very
Careful before you try to link
Me to natural disasters. Never judge me
Because I may only seem bad instead
Of being holy and good. I would never judge
You for being too good. Do not spread
Around rumors. Do not hold a grudge
Against me just because you were hurt
By some guy like me before.
Just because he left your heart in the dirt,
Does not mean I will even the score.
You not some consolation prize because

What I See In You
Just because I do not say much
Does not mean I think you are any
Less beautiful. You are my crutch
And the one who keeps me on my knee.
I am the one who has to bow down to you
Because you are a goddess and you could
Never see it. If only you saw my point of view,
I think that that you would
Never criticize your appearance.
You have me tongue tied and shy.
I think that you will get it once
I show you that you mean more than my
Ring on your finger. I want to spend the rest
Of my life proving that you and I are blessed.

No Hero
It was a hard pill to swallow
Because the truth hurts and
All I wanted to do was follow
In your footsteps. The sand
Was sinking me down
Until I could no longer stand.
I felt like I was going to drown,
But there was nothing I could do
To stop the whispers in this town.
Everybody was speculating and you
Were living up to the hype.
I was starting to feel like the new
Girl around these parts. I had to wipe
Away my tears before you saw
Me as weak. I was not your type
Of girl. I used to be in awe

Like a Storm
You are going to wish you had
A warning or at least a map
Because I am unpredictable.
I could come in and turn
Everything upside down.
I could just blow right on
Thorough this town.
I am danger without the warning.
I am the storm with
The wind howling
And everybody running
For cover. I am the chaos during
The storm. I am the reason why
You want to change states
And change names so I do not
Find you. You cannot escape me.
You will not escape from me.
I got the fire burning behind my
Eyes. The storm is coming. ...

Nothing to Replace the Real You
I am reaching for the phone,
But I am realizing that you
Are not there anymore.
Is it ever too late to say sorry?
It feels like months are
Stretching into years since
The last time I heard from you.
I was sitting around and hoping
That you would change your mind,
But you did not. All the hope and
Willingness to try again is quickly
Fading away. I yearn to hear your
Voice one last time, but I can
No longer bear the thought of
Bringing all those memories back.
I have to put pen to paper to squash
My urges, but nothing could ever...
But I am realizing that you
Are not there anymore.

Against The Storm
Darling, you are like a beautiful disaster.
You go on full speed ahead like a tornado.
You are not like the decay
That rots away. You have this glow
To you that never truly goes away.
I wish you would know
Your true potential. You have a magical sway
That has everybody under a trance.
You make us all want to stay.
You and I are in this endless dance
When neither one of us is willing to cave in.
I am willing to give this a chance
Only if you are ready for this dark ink
To settle in. It is starting to...

Gone Girl
Keep her close to your heart
Because that is where she belongs.
You gave her a kick start
To living again. She is like that song
You will never truly forget.
There will be other girls trying to
Take her place, but you will regret
Leaving her behind. You will turn blue
Because she is not there to be
Your oxygen in order to breathe.
She just wants you to see
Your mistakes and you will seethe
Around in anger. You had that
One girl through everything
