POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
What's wrong?
What is wrong?
What is wrong.
We build tolerance to love
faster than any drug.
I've got this brain fog
and a hole in my pocket
that's cost me way more
than a new pair of pants.
I've got some pill bottles
and double dose-
I always forget about the first.
I've got this idea-
Let's drill holes in our skulls,
spill out more ideas
uninhibited
and let out some steam,
tilt our heads
and pour a glass of our brains.
Gray matter doesn't matter
with high hopes and dreams.
Hang em high on the clothesline
let the wind take...
What is wrong.
We build tolerance to love
faster than any drug.
I've got this brain fog
and a hole in my pocket

Astrological Anomaly
In a serene field of sagegrass
serenaded by the mistaken sanctity
disguised in daylight.
This ain't a sanctuary,
it's a sordid reality
bringing back my forlorn prophecy
of a slightly older me
where I ignore the warning signs
written in the night sky
in my month of Gemini.
The rough grass grazes my knees.
I grab the moon and eat it whole
Then slip into a sporadic bout
of unsettling sanity.
My head stops spinning.
My world starts spinning the way physics say.
Suddenly I'm moving forward.
I was walking backward...
serenaded by the mistaken sanctity
disguised in daylight.
This ain't a sanctuary,
it's a sordid reality
bringing back my forlorn prophecy
of a slightly older me
where I ignore the warning signs
written in the night sky
in my month of Gemini.

How to Blow Minds and Lose Lovers
Permeate nature's membrane
in the wide blue sheath
out of the grey,
The wind carries in smoke
from wildfires, North,
the stagnant hint
of wildweeds in the air.
This day's got me feelin'
like novacaine
with a bump of cocaine
but it's still hard to feel alive
in this neck'a the woods-
ironic I wrap my hand
around the trachea of today
and strangle life out
like wringing a towel
or milking a cow.
Continue past the end of the pines
and swandive off the cliffside.
Teach me to fly
with those broken bony wings.
I...
