Pausing before I speak is an
Ability I simply do not possess
Words fly out of my mouth uncensored
Temper tantrums are unleashed

Kick start my heart
When I remember you, will it be with regret? I want to say no. I want to say of course I’m glad that I discovered love within you, within me. But at this moment my heart is dead and I am completely and utterly lost in this world without you. I want to grieve for you as if you have died and let my eyes cry the torrential tears threatening. This is the only way to convince my brain to kickstart my heart.

Waiting on you
I wait and watch the clock
Wondering if you are awake
Time goes by slowly, ticktock
I know you also take nights, chalk
It up as a loss so I can’t, won’t
Disturb you, I quite simply balk
At the thought of awaking you but
You hold the key to my deadlock
Needing you now but knowing
These demons you can’t block
From my mind, torturing me and
Taking hostage, I think they mock
I will wait on you, let the demons
Run amuck while I pace and walk
And...

I continue to walk

Wrong

Bruising, skinning
Knees on the rocks
Wronging others
Remaining in this

Contradictions
I am a contradiction
Full of sin and innocence
Not to be confused
With naïveness.
I do not lack judgement,
Experience or wisdom.
I believe in the goodness
Of people and am betrayed
Time and again.
I wish I could become a
Cold cynic and keep my
Heart guarded.
It is impossible, you see.
I have gained insight into
Myself through hard and
Harsh lessons and yet I
Continue to believe in you.

I have been wronged
I have wronged others
Not through deceit
But through honesty
Don’t form attachments
I don’t know how to handle
I will fuck you up severely
Leaving you black and blue
It’s in my nature to find the
Smallest fault line so I simply
Rip and tear it open so there is
Nothing left but a gaping hole
Taking your heart to replace the
One I am missing, hoping to fill the
Void left by others. Maybe it wasn’t
Your fault and maybe...

Time heals all wounds, right?
If you said yes, you are a liar
Maybe it makes it bearable to
Sleep at night, eventually…
How much fucking time already?
I’ve lived several lifetimes and
I’m not slumbering away in peace
Sheets are twisted or thrown around
Time? What is this fucking time?
It’s a concept I cannot grasp
Because shit hasn’t been healed
Yet but it’s cool. Yeah, I’m fine.

Mud Grips
This road has been used before
Many times by many others
Left broken and muddied
The rain poured down, removing
Cleansing my stained soul
From the shameful soil
Stranded, no longer wet
Dried out and used up
The terrain, now rutted and cratered
Treacherous passes
Since the dust cleared
I will not be deserted again

Curious, creeping sensations of
Someone watching me unaware
Sweeping the crowd with a glance
Our eyes meet and worlds collide
My present, in a split second, comes
Crashing into my heartbroken past
Once upon a time, young love flowed
Grown from a close, tight friendship
A boy who licked my face just to hear
Peals of rare laughter ring from me
Passionate feelings, love is now hate
Apologies remain unaccepted now
