Waiting on you

I wait and watch the clock

Wondering if you are awake

Time goes by slowly, ticktock

I know you also take nights, chalk

It up as a loss so I can’t, won’t

Disturb you, I quite simply balk

At the thought of awaking you but

You hold the key to my deadlock

Needing you now but knowing

These demons you can’t block

From my mind, torturing me and

Taking hostage, I think they mock

I will wait on you, let the demons

Run amuck while I pace and walk

And they may try to take possession

Of my soul and heart, I wait, stalk

My moby awaiting that certain ring

I can’t fathom why, I remain in shock

I was just reaching out to talk
