LOVE POEM

For What Its Worth
" I love you. Don't do this."
Those words still ring in my ears,
they still echo like venom, a poison.
"I never loved you."
Harsh and untrue words
because God even know
how I loved this man
with all my heart.
Every time my heart beat,
it beat for him.
For his touch,
For his voice,
For his kiss.
I loved a man,
A man I knew I would never have
happily ever after with,
but i loved him anyway
because for once,
it felt like the right thing to do.
I wanted to love and lose again,
I wanted to cry ...

Her hair smooth as silk
Her eyes as beautiful as the new budding flowers
The love may be mutual
but it isn't shown.
She conned me,
like anyone would an innocent victim.
Leaving a hole where my heart and affection once was.
I love her,
but she does not reciprocate
for she does not believe in what could be,
scared from a checkered past
filled with regret and poor choices.
We crossed many a sea together
battling away all who chose to not believe...

I Promise
First day
I saw you.
Sitting in the corner
looking down at your desk
trying to avoid the world
before you.
When the bell rang
everyone woke from their haze
I turned around
and saw you,
walking away faster
than I could ever care
to catch up too.
But I did.
“Hi”
was the first word
I ever said to you
and just let me say
it’s the best word
I’ve ever spoken.
Your eyes,
thats the first thing
I ever noticed.

like a stab in the chest

Forgotten
drug use and abuse
the fiery light of my shadow
blown away by the imperfect lies
you whisper.
Worthless time
spent on hopes and dreams.
Never ending screams escape
the mouth of a less than perfect child
Round and round
we go in this circle.
rugged edges of life
cascade into the palm of your hand
You speak words
but never actually say something.
You were raised to believe
that thorns on roses were meant to puncture
and cuts on skin were meant to bleed.
You were left behind

Do I Dare Say Goodbye?
I look in the sky
and see the stars we called you and I
and remember the time
when we were happy
I stare at the sky
With no clouds in sight
I see what we once had
But all in fright
As the rain pours down
I remember those words
I thought were so grand
But now nothing but sand
Do I dare say goodbye?
What we once had was strong
But now I question
What we did wrong
Once one says goodbye
Does love ever reunite?
