POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
If the grass is greener on the other side, then water your damn grass.
Deceiving
I see you sitting there
giving me a glare
you make me feel weird as you watch me
but I guess that's how it's supposed to be
you don't speak
I guess that's normal
at least you don't watch me when I take a leak
You sit on my desk often
wanting me to handle you
what else am I supposed to do?
sit there and watch you watch me.
well, here it comes.
the time of day when I use you.
Oh stapler, you're my friend when it comes to piles of unsorted research papers I have to grade.
I hope you don't go quit working one day.
hah! you thought...

Financial Bleeding
By birth, by choice, by what I believe
I can never be what you think you see
pick up that rock and hit me in the face
something was never right
and I believe that the horror may be true.

Pieces of Myself
Pieces of myself; I don't care
walking in hell; I'm already there
Neurotic to my core; I'm crazy
Wishing for me now; Missing myself lately
Songs of the heart don't work; I'm bored
My memories came back; Mind's been restored
The ache of a generation; is it over yet?
The lies of a politician; will always win the bet.
Pieces of Myself
I don't care
wishing my life would show me the way
I break off in pieces
I don't ruin
I just bend
I don't break
I just heal
I don't feel pain
So I guess I'm insane.

Something
Saw you under the street light
the sky was dark as night
you were alright
The sound of your voice brought me to chills
taking me to the extreme of cheap thrills
drinking beer and popping magic pills
The heat was so overwhelming
the lies of them couldn't be more telling
the appeal couldn't have been better selling
the drugs of love can't be used
I don't need them, you were too enthused
the ones that are worse for you are abused
The key is put in the doorknob
stepping into the home of a slob

The World as I see It
Is it the sunshine in the morning?
Is it the coolness of the night?
The river flows in all it's glory;
and it is such a tremendous sight.
Is it the warm summer air?
Is it the touch of the water on hot skin?
Is it the love of a mother, covering her child with her hair?
Is it the way we all begin and end?
Is it the coolness of the night?
The river flows in all it's glory;
and it is such a tremendous sight.

Is it the touch of the water on hot skin?
Is it the love of a mother, covering her child with her hair?

Read this please!!!
So, I made this profile to update poems to get people's opinions, and so far, I'm not getting the feedback that I had hoped. So, I'm going to take some considerations from you guys. What should I do different? Are my poems even good? Help me out. I will be open to anything, except, I will not write about Molestation, rape, drugs, abuse, etc, because I feel like that category isn't me. I am aware that, that specific subject is the most popular, however, I will not write about it, and that's that. Also, if you haven't read my bio on my page, then I will state the most important: I DO NOT write...

The Birds of Prey
Alicia was running. From what? Well, she harassed a homeless man, who threatened to kill her.
Where will I hide?
In an alley?
The shadow of the old man appeared before her.
She ran to a dead end.
He walked up close to her face.
Breathed on it, causing her to somewhat vomit.
"Missy, you messed up."
"I know, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to."
"This is what you get when you mess with the birds of prey."
TWO WEEKS LATER.
"Hello, and welcome to 5 news. We regret to inform you of the ghastly conclusion to the Alicia...

Caller: Unknown
A message flashes on the screen.
She wants to answer it but isn't sure.
the phone rings.
she is scared; who is it?
mom? Dad?
nope. Unknown caller.
"I shouldn't have put my email and number on that site" she says.
She answers the phone.
"Hello?" she says while hesitating.
"I can see you're scared."
"Yes, now leave me alone."
"But, why? You're so pretty."
"No, leave me alone, or I'll call the cops."
"Never..." He says.
She runs and turns the light off.
"Hey,...

That One Summer-excerpt 2
"What?...What're you talking about? That's not possible...You can't be serious!" Mrs. Johnson screamed. "Mrs. Johnson, We don't know where he is, we're not saying he's dead. There's been reports of him in the next town, so if that's true, he's only seven miles away." Mrs. Johnson looked worried. "My boy isn't dumb enough to get himself killed, so if what you're saying is true, then bring my boy back?" The police officer settled her down. "Ma'am, we'll do what we can." He tipped his hat, then left.

That One Summer
June 29, 1967
It has been two weeks since I had heard from Valyrie. The world had seemed to spin so fast that nothing I could do would make it stop, or slow down at least. The heat of the dry, stagnant air cause my neck to sweat, and my body to grow uncomfortable. I sit here listening to Elvis, while I write in the dark, hazy sunset light, swatting mosquito's as I barely manage to grip the small pencil with my sweaty hands. It's hard to read my writing now as the page turns musky brown as I keep touching the lead marks and smearing them all over. Oh well, I don't care. It's my...

Like a Bird
The feathers are heavy
but they're the things that help them fly
they fly at dangerous heights, but are not afraid
they risk their lives, but without question.
they do what they need to do, not a single complaint.
they fly into the sky, as free as can be.
why can't humans be like a bird?
why must we always hinder ourselves from our greatest capabilities?
