Sometimes
we just don’t
get answers.
It happens.
The pain
runs rabid
like cancer.
We try
to cut it off
before
it spreads.

to sew
the wound
with threads.

it's as rich
as pearls.

accepts
the cool
calming affect
of Luna's
caress.

rises
the silent sea
to wash
upon
dry shores.

blazes
the warmth
of her admiration
through
the intensity
of her stare.
Yin and Yang
perpetually
caught in
a celestial
dance.
The golden rays
get lost
in the halo.

My mother
told me
to never walk alone
at night.
I never
listened to her
until I got a good fright.
He grabbed my hair
from behind
and pulled me down
with force.
He straddled me
and covered my mouth
with no remorse.
With a knife in his hands
his words were
“I won’t hurt ya, if you play nice”.
With my life in my hands
my thoughts were
should I roll the dice?
I closed my eyes
and stayed still
while he...

Remembering My Deepest Heartbreak
Always
remembering
to hold close
the lesson
learned.
Reflecting
on how intensely
I was burned
and understood
to focus
on healing.
I spent time
recovering
and tending
to skin peeling.
I kept the wounds
clean
Inevitably
scars formed
Tears streamed
down my face
as I quietly
reformed.
Patiently
I wait
for him and karma
to meet.
Something
he won't be able
to cheat.

As the twilight
reaches dawn
bare feet
walk on grass
breaking
the dewdrops.
Making contact
with the earth
has me grounded
and centered,
the energy
is nonstop.
Inhaling
the crisp air
into my lungs
refreshens
my thoughts.
As the sun breaches
the horizon
it carves out
a color scheme
and I realize
happiness
can be taught.
