It's Not You, It's Me
As is apparent in the written report evaluating the performance, function and overall health of this enterprise, the outlook is indeed grim.
Investments made in the first quarter of the current fiscal year did not prove gainful and the expected synergy from previous years strategies did not yield any net gains.
Instead we saw a sharp decline in Q2 due to a couple of gambles that didn't pan out, which in conjunction with The Scandal caused stock prizes to plummet.
Talk of attempts to explore new avenues and revitalise through the formation of a new long term project and offshoot...

Jenny dared to dream big
Devising intricate plans for the future
Making a lot of lists
Colour coordinated
Cross referenced
Complete
Put them all neatly in a binder
Decorated it with inspirational quotes and motivational mantras
She looked at it and felt very accomplished
Took the binder and placed it neatly on the shelf with the others
Noting with a small "hm" how they had gotten thinner over time

Movement (A Sketch Based On a Picture)
Summer evening
Band is playing
That song is the encore
Starts to make her spirit soar
The music grabs her, she starts to sway
At first so delicate, then will gives way
18, skinny, blooming fast
Wanting to make this moment last
Body moving with such coy pleasure
Rhythmic ecstasy, hinting at a secret treasure
The way her hair shines in the setting sun
The way her eyes smile so brightly it stuns
Her dance is altogether fire
As I watch her from...

Counting
A couple of minutes walk away from the party
Champagne bottle in hand
Lying in the meadow
"How many do you think there are?" she asked
"Probably around 3000," I replied
"Now you are just being silly!"
"I'm pretty sure I read somewhere it was around 3000. Go on then. Count them."
She gave up after 97
We held hands
I conceded there might be more although 3000 was quite a big number
They all shone for us

Burt, 39, summa cum laude, happily married, father of 3, fit, happy, eager
Sat on an examinition table underneath harsh lights
Three distinguished white coats in attendance
One white coat looked at the screen
Then at Burt, making a grimace

The other now on his third stethoscope
