Dad, I Never Had You There
I've never felt like I could please you,
Always seemed to put you down. You've
only ever told me once,
just how proud you are of me.
You said it like you meant it...
But your actions speak louder than words.
Growing up, I never had
you there.
You were never around.
You never cared.
Always so drunk,
always a drink in your hand.
I hate you so much,
for all the things that you did.
I lay there at night and cry.
Oh, if only you could hear me.
Oh, if only you knew.
If only you showed you cared.
Growing up, I...

Words Don't Explain Much
I wish that you could be happy for once.
Just because you put on a smile, doesn't mean that you're okay.
You might say your happy, and you might pretend to be happy, but I know the truth.
And I know you're lying.
What pisses me off the most about you,
is that you don't stick up for yourself.
You're always telling everyone else to stick up for themselves.
For them not to be pushed around by people, or shoved away.
Well, you are a hipocryt because you wait until the last possible minute, you wait until it's too late.
I know that it's never too late to leave,...

King Ben
His imagination goes beyond this world.
He is always playing, he is always happy.
You might not know it but he is a king.
Yet he does not wear a crown, and he does not fight.
His smile lights up a room when it is a gloomy day.
This child is something special, and he means so much to me.
He has his own little place and it's called "The Zone".
Nobody bothers him when he's there, nobody makes a sound.
For if we disturb this King of ours, there's no telling of what his powers will do.
I love this child like he was my own.
And if anyone hurts him,...
He is always playing, he is always happy.
You might not know it but he is a king.
Yet he does not wear a crown, and he does not fight.

An End
As I think of a place to hide,
I look back then go forward with one more stride.
I know I must keep going,
even though I start to feel ever so lonely.
I find a hideout my own little place,
where it is dark and cold with lots of private space.
My cave becomes a dirty hole,
where day by day I feel myself growing old.
I want to find a way,
where I can go back to a different day.
I want to give myself peace,
I just want to let my guilt go,
I want it to release.
I leave my cave and walk around the bend,
I just wish I could...
I look back then go forward with one more stride.
I know I must keep going,
even though I start to feel ever so lonely.

The Lightening Strikes
The tigers yawn, the lions roar.
I lay on my front lawn, and watch the eagles soar.
The grass is so green, and I start to feel ever so free.
It turns to night, as the owls come out.
I head inside as I look back and admire the sight,
the night life livens as it comes out and about.
The thunder rolls, the lightening strikes.
I get out the ice-cream and a bowl.
I go into the living room, and sit and think,
about what it is that I like.
I lay on my front lawn, and watch the eagles soar.
The grass is so green, and I start to feel ever so free.
It turns to night, as the owls come out.
I head inside as I look back and admire the sight,
the night life livens as it comes out and about.

about what it is that I like.

As I look out my bedroom window I see a world full of dreams.
The trees change colour and that is when I learn, nothing is what it seems.
The world turns ever so slow, my life is just starting and it is aglow.
With my brother in jail, and no chance of him getting out on bail, I feel my life start to fade.
It was a set-up, I know it was all wrongfully played!
I don't believe he did it, but that's just me.
I wish that everyone would just leave us alone and let it be.
