Death is near
These day are precious,
Holy Spirit posses us,
please forgive for our sins
this life will pass,
but your love will last,
give peace to the next of kin
When the end is near
of one we love so dear
we pray to You for comfort
with mercy and grace,
Jesus please embrace,
them, in their final slumber

LATE NIGHT RAMBLINGS
Her world is so small now the size of her bed
Dots body, her tent, giving way to her death
The ailments so many, her spirit still strong
wants no water or food now, her time is not long
We care and we pray, her moment at hand
maybe hours or days, for her time in this land
one of her four offspring, preceded her in death
she cared for in sickness, until his final breath
Her daughter (my wife) gives love and devotion
leans into lord Jesus and not her emotion
Dots siblings, there were 8, she made final 2
Her...

MISCELLANEOUS POEM

Old Boot New Boot
(Hanging them up)
Ever since I was
a new young recruit
I was excited to wear
many differing boots
Some boots are rubber
and some they are leather
depending on events
the hazard, or weather
Maybe, pulling them on
in middle of night
protecting me (or someone else)
from high Fahrenheit
Those boots and I
must go do our duty
we challenge eachother
and could both end up sooty
Running up and down
fires on the hills
Coughing and sputtering ...
Ever since I was
a new young recruit

Temples
Shape me and build my temple, from your grace and majesty
No rocks to chisel, wood to hew or curtains of tapestry
Fashion my soul, with delight in Christ, and give a thankful heart
for not a hammer, saw, or tool of man can in me play a part
My edges very rough with sin, polish and prepare me with your hands
with trials and tribulations, Jesus, please build me from Your plans
For as the sculptor makes his creation, we do not have the choice
You saw us through your loving eyes, with your perfection we rejoice
for when its time to call us home, and...

Fulfill my desires
I remember a solitary, empty night
when I turned to You Lord,
to fulfill my desires for a mate,
some ways specific, others more general
"so now you know what my desire is Lord"
Please, now, search my heart
and find Your truth
Then, when we first met
(Forgetting my prayer at that time)
I thought, 'could this be the one?'
'Selfishly, I needed to think
We both liked me! Young and prideful
Yet soon realizing, what power love really held
My time, my thoughts, were filled with love
I then remembered the...

Counting blessings
Counting blessings in a rhyme
to the point I'll waste no time
Family, friends, and those who love me
a church, a home, a roof above me
food to eat and running water
grandkids, my sons, and loving daughters
my spouse, my health, a servants heart
to 'Love thy neighbor' and do my part
a running car, a store near by
a coat to wear to keep me dry
a garden plot to raise and reap
potatoes, tomatoes, squash and leaks
A bike, a television, keeps me amused
My dog to walk, some comfy shoes
a few bucks left over, that I...

Do you know Jesus
For how am I to know Thee
if I do not introduce myself to You
These rags I wear, the words I speak
are not worthy for Your view
Outward appearance, and composure
which makes me look so cool
the way I act, the things I say
only myself, is who I fool
Others can not see
whats in my heart, I hide
Secretly my greed and lust
they feed my haughty pride
For when I come to You in prayer
the words that I let slip
It is not You that will condemn me
my own heart, will read its scripts

Everyday is Daughters day
Everyday is Daughters day to me
I loved them since their start
Your smiles, they always give me joy
With your love, you steal my heart
My prayers were truly answered
You’re both healthy smart and strong
Independent, and self reliant,
With loving homes, you now belong
Blessings you have many
But as your father I have more
The joy and love you gave me first
As little girls whom I adored
Thank you God for giving me
These women in my life
Yet none of this would be possible
Without their mom/my loving wife
I loved them since their start

God please make me your vessel
I sit here in health and drink of my wine
my slumber at night in comfort just fine
I say all my prayers and give to the poor
I look through a lens, as people knock at my door
I go to my church, volunteer of my time
comfortable couch, with a computer, I rhyme
My family, we live, all over the globe
receiving Gods grace and his love and his hope
Yet, do I face persecution as those in our past?
Would I go too far places if ever was asked?
Would I sacrifice dollars, well-being ,or peace?
So I may love on my neighbor, or to give some relief ...

A Christmas/Birthday Card!
The time once again to celebrate Christ
remember His birth and huge sacrifice
Born in the manger, HE took on flesh
the Son of a virgin, the first miracle success
His beginning so humble, not fit for a king
the story be told and the praises we sing
we share same traditions, the giving of gifts
decorations, celebrations and spirits we lift
It is time to remember, the most famous of births
That was ever recorded on this planet earth
He walked around among us, salvation his plan
redemption of sinners,for every woman and...

Divorces, abortions and adultries
What a calamity of all situations
that come to make a nation of thee
as humans we can not continue
a blind eye to all of these three
The family is a gift given
With all of the blessings of love
the enemy 'all in' to destroy it
brings fighting and dividing thereof
A child in womb though not seen
is a life just like you and me
although can not speak
mild and quite weak
does not give us the right to demean
Our lust is a tempting of mind
our bodies get ready and primed
a glance and a stare ...
