Ginger and Lemon Drink
I'm sipping my nightly drink
A cup of warm ginger and lemon made by my son
Blend of fresh ginger slices, lemon and spoon of wild honey in warm water
Flavored just right for my taste
Not too sour nor too sweet
I had a busy day today
Did chores and attended to my husband's needs
He is still weak physically
I feel tired and spent
A cup of this ginger and lemon drink is just what I need
To recharge my low energy
It is soothing for my throat and helps
In relieving my cough
Every night I take a cup of this drink...

Fragile
You're so fragile, delicate
Physically and emotionally
Like a glass prone to breaking
An abrupt change has happened
Since your hospitalization
You used to be strong and agile
But that physical strength is gone
Your legs that can walk for kilometers before
Can barely support you for hours on your feet now
It's sad to see you this way
Totally different from what you used to be
I have to handle you with care
No more massages and tight hugs from me
Your skin cannot endure pressure
It would cause you hematoma ...
Physically and emotionally
Like a glass prone to breaking
An abrupt change has happened
Since your hospitalization
You used to be strong and agile
But that physical strength is gone

Routine
It has been our routine
To visit Doctors' clinic
Since he was operated
For raptured aorta
Brought by aneurysm
That happened in 2008
13 years have passed
Nothing changed
Last December he had another surgery
A flank excavation
To remove blood clots
As a result from bleeding
When he suffered from kidney injury
This was not a major surgery
But still as risky because of his condition
Today we went for another Visit
To the hospital and his Doctor
For his protime
The INR is high and another...

Flight (of Time )
April glides smoothly
Going by so fast
How swiftly days move along
Time really flies
A second passes
In the blink of an eye
I wonder how far
I would go or would have gone
If I raced with time in its turning
If I made each second each minute
And each hour
That passed me by count
Perhaps all my days would have been full
There would be no time to feel empty
Maybe I would be somewhere else
Not where I am now
At this moment in my life
I've wasted time in the past
Not fully using it when I...

I need to post before midnight
Or I'll get an X, a strike
Can't let that happen
I've made up my mind
To reach the finish line
When April ends
Still have an hour
Just enough time
For editing
If I post before 11: 00 PM
It's 10:28 now and I'm done

Notebook
I noticed my old notebook
That has been lying
On the bedside table this evening
It has been there for months
But I did not open it
It contains old poems I wrote and posted
In other poetry sites
This evening I decided to go over it
And read some poems that are good in my opinion
I needed to distract myself from the feeling of discomfort brought by hyper acidity
I had a bad afternoon due to it
That I had to skip my dinner and just took slices of pancakes
I found one poem that was featured twice as Poem of the Day

Morning
I woke up to a bright morning
Feeling better than I felt these last three days
The sun is unusually bright today
Its piercing brilliance reflected
In the glass window of our room
Weather is good
No dark clouds hanging
In the clear blue sky to obstruct the path
Of sunlight in its sheer brightness
I saw a flock of little birds descending
For a quick peck on the ground outside
It was a lovely sight to behold
I love to wake up to a bright morning
It sets the tone and mood of the day for me
A sunny morning brings...
Feeling better than I felt these last three days

Inspiration
When I think I'm running out of inspiration
I look around me to search
For that source of joy
That would inspire me to keep going
And lift me from whatever feelings
That weigh me down
There are many things in life
That could inspire me
Things that are worth living for
That gives me more reason to live
And appreciate life despite the challenges I face in living day by day
My family is one of those reasons
And the most important of all
Their love is all that matters
That alone is enough

First Day
Today is the first day of Ramadhan
The day is peaceful and calm
There is a stillness in the house and outside
Everyone is resting except those who aren't fasting
Even the cats are not making any sound
I can't see them around
I am not able to render my fast on this first day for an excusable reason
And decided to do the laundry
The air is cool outside
Only the sound of birds can be heard
Their tweeting seem louder today
Amplified by the silence
A small bird accidentally finds its way to our room through an open window

I feel low today
Woke up with a mild fever
Clogged nose and back ache
I needed to rest and stay in bed
These past days have been stressful
And the light rain the other day
Has soaked my head cover
When we went to visit the cemetery
That must have caused this fever
And feeling of fatigue I felt this morning
But I had to get up
And move and do my role
I prepared my husband's lunch
Washed the sheets that have been waiting for days to be laundered
And waited for the afternoon to serve his snack
He is still not in good...

No longer a baby boy
I used to cuddle and sing to sleep
Not too young and not old enough
To know everything about life
There is so much for you to learn
So much for you to explore and discover
A bigger world is waiting outside
For you to take your step toward its welcoming doors
I understand your excitement
When you turned 16 on your birthday last month
You are eager to spread your wings and fly
To enjoy your freedom as a young adult
But you need to know
