The Anarchists love cats poem.
People think
anarchist are all
Riots and Molotov Cocktails
but seriously
we just love
CATS!
And I mean FUCKIN.LOVE! CATS!
We anarchists don't
do things by halfs,
example: The group for anarchists to post pictures
of their cats in
has
7,802 members( at most recent count)
Is there something
about anarchy and cats?
I mean
why not Chincillas
or the radicalism
of tortoises.
But no
it's cats.
It does make
you wonder.
Consider it,
if we can get the
cats
to rebel ...

To Old St Pauls Episcopalian Church, Edinburgh.
Marx said " religion is the sigh of the oppressed,
the opiate of the masses"
now who is Christianity for? the people or
the ruling classes?
The meek shall inherit the earth
no, literally the dirt
Organised religion only keeps you
poor and oppressed
it only dulls the pain of feeling
hurt.
All these churches
promising pie in the sky
but when confronting
real injustice
they're the first
to turn a blind eye.
It's easier for a rich man
to get through the needle's eye
but of course it's easy...

Black Lives Matter.
Darren Wilson walked free
he killed Mike Brown
the courts decided there was nothing wrong with that
sheriff sat and ate donuts with bigots
all rich white male and profit-fat.
they said
let the system follow through,
things will come out right
well friend,
that didn't come true
and now it's time to fight.
Racism is alive and well in America and elsewhere
it's normalised and naturalised
and we're made to pretend it's not there.
Blood splatter
black lives matter
you say we can't hate all cops
but you gotta understand ...

I wish it could be Christmas every day( Peace and Plenty for all!)
"For the bail outs
you have our sincere thanks".
" the only bail outs
we won't do
is saving all
the food banks".
While the rich are enjoying Christmas
living high on the hog
Out on the street
there's a man in a sheet
tryin' to keep warm with his dog.
The Rich are gettin' richer
while the poor stay poor.
They say it's just The Way Things Are
aye, when profit's in the drivin' seat
an 1 Million folk in Britain
are strugglin' to eat!
They say the poor've been
irresponsible
played hard...

My poetic manifesto
Poetry must be relevant for the circumstances in which it arises.
1. Poetry is most alive when spoken and/or performed. Performance poetry seems a better way to reach audiences than page poetry though it is not either/or. Page poetry can and infact has different aims and purposes and works by different means.
2. All literature is inherently and by its very nature, political. It is political because it uses language which is also by its very nature inherently philosophical and political. Writing itself, publication, distribution.. every aspect of...

Awkward first date.
I met someone
asked them out
invited them to the protest
this coming
weekend
they said sure
I love a protest
got into it through a
friend
I worried they wouldn't
show when the time
arrived
I don't know how I made
it
to the day
I just about
survived
worried about the time
I rushed down there
Didn't see my
date
they turned up
later
they arrived
late
on the PRO-LIFE SIDE

It was an awkward date
