Austerity is only the symptom, capitalism is the disease.
The referendum haunts Scotland like a ghost
a blood sucking parasite sapping energy from the host
too many have been kidnapped by the myth of independence
and scottish politics has been infected by the plague ever since
grassroots struggle?, Yessers and the STUC don't want to know
well.,fuck your hierarchical bullshit, we need direct action from below.
The purpose of nations is to keep the peace
to smother struggle
and it's happenin' everywhere
from Scotland to Italy,
Ukraine to Greece.
And you can't lay the blame down easily only... at the...

Look At me I'm so alternative.
Look at me
I'm so alternative
there's no fucks
for me to give.
I reject mainstream society
but not the ideas
it sells to me.
I might wear different clothes
live a different lifestyle
but try to talk to me
about revolutionary politics
and I'll run a bloody mile!

I have no problem
drinkin' coffee at Starbucks
Got no problem with Nike

Angry Not Apathetic!
All of you liberals pushin'
voting are just pathetic
I'm angry, not apathetic!
you just don't get it.
Social change won't come if we
just vote for it
Between the rulers and the ruled
our interests are the opposite
we demand better lives
while they offer us poison
in return for their bullshit.
You can't stop austerity
by voting for Syriza or the Scottish National Party.
Don't vote ,organize
all governments
are founded on lies.
Elections have only made things worse
it was sold as liberation
now it haunts...

not "anything goes" but flourishing
of each and of all
democracy not hierarchy

not a trendy fashion statement
but empowerment.

My Emotional life 2000-2014.
The most honest thing I've ever written.
My family has always been a mess and never been hugely close but never dysfunctional.
2000- Emotionally abused by my granddad. witnessed domestic violence against my granny aged 10. Bullying through much of my school life. Had some low self esteem. Internalized others hatred as self hatred.
2006- dad died suddenly and unexpectedly in my house.
2007- Last year of high school. Lost most of interest in school. Didn't study well and just about passed. Became intellectually...

Midlothian's Deid?!
Pair leafy hame
what starts in smiles goes doon in flame
it's no the ordinary folk Ah blame
folk like ma ancestors, Forsters, Nightingales, Stanley's an the yin or twae Reid
it's the rich and powerful , those whae'd caw new hooses "Cameron Gardens".. AYE THAIM!
an ir the reason thit nou Midlothian's deid.
The futures in the city, the youth are rightly movin' oot
it's aw gaun oan in Embra, guid reason tae uproot
"it's where ah've aye been", "Ah dey ken what yer oan aboot"

Sandy, a better dug Ah never had
Yer pain sae intense, yer suffering sae bad

a hard choice indeed

In Celebration of Resistance and Rebellion.
1.
Dedicated to the people of Brazil, Fergusson and Greece.
Oh Welcome riots and insurrections
let the oppressed's rage freely flow
let it be felt by the oppressors
in every word and blow
let the people's anger rise bubbling
let it froth and flow forth
like lava
like the hot breath
of a dog
that has panted for
far too long.
Let the channels of polite protest
run dry.
Let the confines of law and fear be abolished
May they be buried in memory,
may the truth be known. ...

Wonderings about art especially poetry.
"Modernist writers broke with Romantic pieties and clichés (such as the notion of the Sublime) and became self-consciously skeptical of language and its claims on coherence. "
Been having my about six monthly crisis and doubting about where I've went with my poetry so far and where to go next. It's a regular occurrence.
Right now my thinking is this:-
1. The idea of what poetry is or should do or could be from the period of the romantics e.g. Robert Burns, Wordsworth etc is irrelevant now. I still enjoy it but it's not how poetry should be...
Been having my about six monthly crisis and doubting about where I've went with my poetry so far and where to go next. It's a regular occurrence.
Right now my thinking is this:-

Independence and I.
Scottish Independence?!
Independence from what
A nation is a jumble, a mess, a rabble
A nation is a collection
Which implies a collector
Like all creation myths someone has a stake
In its spread
Like a virus it infects all it touches
Till cells are not recognisable anymore
And organisms are replicators of rhetoric backwardness
a garden I refuse to water
but which plants the bitter seeds
So deep I must claw at the soil
and tear the roots raw
The Earth screaming
I have wounded it and myself ...
