POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
I'm just a cowboy. I've got some stories to tell and some scores to settle.
Your Embrace
your mouth is sublimely sensual
your lips invite me home
your embrace pulls me in
and leaves me wanting more
your lips invite me home
your embrace pulls me in
and leaves me wanting more

Paying Homage to Raymond Carver
When I write I think of Ray
How would he phrase this?
Raymond Carver died young at 50
He was the King of the common man
Relationships, love and heartbreak
His specialty
If you love the written word
You should spend some time with Ray
He is timeless
He is me and you
He is poetry in motion

Short and Sweet
You have my back
l have yours
Your love never was for sale
Money can't buy you
Grace and dignity
Your smile worth millions
I'm the richest man going
From the day I met you
l have yours
Your love never was for sale
Money can't buy you
Grace and dignity
Your smile worth millions
I'm the richest man going

Vodka, Lou Reed, Urban Cry
You can take the man
But you can't take the music
He was New York
We were his disciples
Cold winter night
I raise a glass
Chilled vodka up
In a martini glass
Urban battle cry
Lou Reed
Early rap pioneer
Listen, learn, rejoice
But you can't take the music
He was New York
We were his disciples
Cold winter night
I raise a glass
Chilled vodka up
In a martini glass
Urban battle cry
Lou Reed
Early rap pioneer
Listen, learn, rejoice

I like to Watch
Like to watch you
In the morning
Getting out of bed
Stretching
Nude
Your graceful form
Years of dance classes
The slope of your breasts
Your beautiful neck
The arch of your back
Legs contoured and shaped
It is a thing of beauty
Your grace
And Spirit
Then clothes and coffee
Your special brew
We sip and talk
Then out the door
A quick peck on the lips
You heading North
While I go West
Smiling ...

Rough Work Week
Pragmatic
But still able to feel
Rough work week
Spent and tired
Days between stations
Desire had to wait
Stony exterior starting to melt
Will you ease me down from the madness?
Don’t ask for much
But when I do
Will you come running
Or will it just be Monday
All over again?
Poet Note: This is one of the first poems I wrote when I started
writing about 14 months ago. It's still one of my favorites for simplicity and message. Hope you enjoy and can identify with it too.
