POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
I use a lot of imagery and symbolism.
Flipping Through Your Channels
I know you better than you know yourself,
From football games to car license plates,
Your street address to your middle name,
I know your friends, the layout of your room,
I’m holding your remote,
Now I’m flipping through your channels.
It started when we were at school,
Our eyes met from across the room,
They locked in place,
I stopped and stared,
I never even knew your name,
Now I know your life from memory,
Following, creeping, loving you,
I know you better than you know yourself,
From soccer matches to school classes,...
From football games to car license plates,
Your street address to your middle name,
I know your friends, the layout of your room,
I’m holding your remote,
Now I’m flipping through your channels.
It started when we were at school,

Now I know your life from memory,

I know you better than you know yourself,

The Shell (No Legs to Move)
A mismatched shell
Lays on a beach
No creature fits it
No friends, instead-
The roar of the ocean
Screams at the poor shell
“Move!
Move! Nobody wants you here!"
A sea of hurt
A wave of words
No legs to move
Supported by the cruel waves
Only to be knocked down
When the tide goes in
The shell
Cast aside
Lays on the shore
Drowning in solitude
Heavy as the evening sun sets
A sea of hurt
A wave of words
No legs to move
No company inside
No friendly soul can-
Will - listen
Instead-...
